It's All About Miracles....

Nora sat on the bench at the park, tightening her coat to her body. The night was cold and the moon was shining. Sadness and pain flooded her when her mind wandered to her meeting with Bo an hour ago...

"N: I love you, Bo. I always have and always will..

B: Oh, Nora...

N: No, stop it! I know what I feel. Believe me that I thought about that a lot before I came here. I wish it wasn’t true, so everything would be easier, but I can’t deny it anymore. I love you and never stopped .. not even for one single moment...

B: Nora we can’t go back to what we were.. we moved on..

N: Did we really? I mean.. don’t you ever ask yourself `what if I was wrong? What if we could go through the pain and be together?`

B: I don’t love to think what if.. and you shouldn’t too. It over between us. You have to face it.

N: I faced it and realized that I love you.. you are the one that never faced his real feelings..."

Nora looked at her bare finger, the one she used to wear her wedding ring on. She couldn’t believe she had the courage to tell Bo she loved him. She couldn’t believe she actually faced Bo and her feelings. It has been long ago when she first realized her heart was still belonged to Bo. It was after Troy and her broke up. It was the first time she let herself look into the depth of her heart.. of her soul. It took her ages until she decided that the best would be telling Bo the truth. And she finally did that. She faced him. But he didn’t want to face his own feelings. Just like always. He never wanted to deal with his feelings. Tears started to roll down her face. She hoped that Bo and her would leave his office together tonight, but once again she left alone, slamming the door behind her, leaving him behind. She hoped she would be in his arms again. Dancing with him. But it all was a dream. A distant dream. Bo and Nora were a dream.

The next evening Nora was at her house, looking out of the window. The sun was already down. She went to the living room and called Matthew.

N: Mattie, please come down.

Matthew came down and went to Nora. Matthew looked at the weird thing on the table in front of him. Examining it carefully.

M: What is this thing, mommy?

N: This is Menorah.

M: What is it doing? Can I play with it?

Nora laughed, sat him on her leg and held him tightly.

N: Well, honey, you can’t play with it, but I’ll show you what we do with the Menorah.

Nora put one candle on the Menorah and held another one in her hand.

N: Today we celebrate Chanukah.

M: Chanukah? What is it?

N: Chanukah is the story of the great victory and a special miracle. You see, thousand years ago, people used to kindle this Menorah with oil, but one day the oil was over and they couldn’t do that. They had only drop of oil that was enough for one day, but like a magic it was enough for whole eight days. So ever since we celebrate Chanukah. We kindle each night one candle, until on the eighth day we light all the candles. Today is the first candle of Chanukah.

M: Really? That’s cool! Are we going to kindle this Menorah every night?

N: Yes.

M: Can I help you? Pleaseeeeee..

N: Of course you can.. but first we have to say a little prayer..

Nora and Matthew got up. Nora smiled as she looked at her little son smiling face. He remained her of the time when she was a little girl and her father sat her on his lap and told her the story of Chanukah and the great miracle. Ever since she was a little girl she loved this holiday. The Festival of lights. The excitement of Matthew made her happy. When they were about to start the door bell rang. Nora went to door and opened it.

N: Bo..

She was surprised to see him there. She thought that after the night before he would never want to face her again. Bo noticed her stressed face and tried to look around the room over her shoulder.

B: Hi. Am I interrupting you?

N: Well.. no.. well actually Matthew and I were in the middle of...

B: Oh, that’s ok, I’ll go, I don’t want to interrupt you..

Bo was about to turned around when Nora stopped him.

N: You are not interrupting us, Bo.. you can stay.. really, that’s ok.

B: Are you sure.. because I can come another time..

N: I’m sure. Come in.

She opened the door widely and Bo came in after her. They came into the living room and saw Matthew examining the Menorah. Bo looked at him and a small smile spread on his face.

B: Is it Chanukah tonight?

N: Yea.. I just told Matthew about the story of Chanukah.

B: Oh really?

Bo knelt down to Matthew and smiled to him.

B: So your mommy told you about Chanukah?

M: Yea! And I’m going to help her light the first candle.. and the second one.. and the third and..

Bo laughed.

B: I got it! That’s really cool! You know, I loved lighting the candles with your mo..

Bo stopped. He picked up his head and looked at Nora, who was standing next to Matthew, smiling. She looked at Bo too and their eyes locked in each other’s. Memories of the times they celebrated Chanukah together flooded their minds. Happy memories. Nora tried to break the silence..

N: Well, we have to light the candles now.. otherwise it will be too late.. the sun has already down.

Nora gave Matthew one candle and tried to teach him
unsuccessfully the prayer.

M: What kind of words are these?!

Nora and Bo laughed as Matthew tried to say the right words.

N: Well, let me help you. I say the prayer and you light the candle, ok?

M: Ok!

Nora said the prayer and help the excited Matthew to light the first candle of Chanukah, exactly like she did with her father when she was a little girl. Bo stood beside Nora and stared at her and Matthew. He smiled as he saw Matthew’s excitement and the happiness that was reflected from Nora’s eyes. Warmth flooded his heart as he watched the two of them. After Matthew and Nora lighted the candles the three of them looked at it, all smiling.

M: That was so fun! I can’t wait until tomorrow to light the other candles! Can we light the other candles now, mommy?

N: I’m afraid not, sweetie.

Nora looked at Bo, he was laughing at Matthew’s disappointment. Nora looked at him and smiled as she saw him laughing. She looked at Matthew again.

N: Mattie, why don’t you go upstairs so I can speak with uncle Bo?

M: Ok.

Matthew went upstairs and left Bo and Nora alone. Nora looked at Matthew going up the stairs and then turned her look at Bo. He looked at her too. She lingered her look at him before she turned her look away and sat down on the couch. Bo got closer to her and looked at the candle on the Menorah.

B: Thanks for letting me stay and light the candles with you and Matthew. I always liked to light the candles with you. I really missed that.

N: You’re welcome.

Nora looked at him again. She wondered what he wanted, what made him to come over to her house after the argument they had the night before. She saw on his face that difficulty he had to tell her his reasons. She decided to ask him.

N: Bo, what are you doing here? I mean.. last night we..

Bo picked up his head and looked at her. He cut her sentence.

B: I came here because of last night, Nora.

N: If you come to say you want me to stay away..

B: You don’t understand..

N: Because that’s fine.. I got your hint..

B: You are wrong.. I don’t wa..

N: Really Bo..

Bo got angrier. He wanted to tell Nora the truth and instead of listening to him she kept talking and didn’t let him say what he wanted to. He got closer to her and grabbed her hand.

B: Would you shut up for a moment and listen to me?

Nora was taken back by his tone. He was serious and she could hear anger in his voice. She confusingly looked at him, didn’t understand what he wanted. She shut up and looked at him in silence, wandering.

B: I came here because I.. I ..

He left Nora`s hand and started to pace around the room, still searching for the words which would explain her everything.

B: You see.. after you left last night, I couldn’t stop thinking about what you said. Your words didn’t leave me no matter how hard I tried to ignore them. When I finally gave up I tried to think about what you said and I.. I..

Bo turned and looked at her. He laughed with desperation.

B: It is almost as hard to tell you as it was to tell myself..

N: To tell me what?

Bo looked around the room, trying to gather all the courage he needed. He bite his lip and started to walk towards Nora. She looked at him, never leaving her eyes of him, examining his reactions. When he got closer enough to her he knelt down beside her on the floor and looked at her. She looked deeply into his eyes.

B: That you were right..

Surprising feelings were shown on her face. She looked confusingly at him, trying to understand what he meant.

N: I was right? I don’t understand..

B: You were right when you said that I never faced my real feelings.. that I..

He looked down at the floor. Nora knelt down and sat beside him on the floor. She slowly picked up his head.

N: That you what, Bo?

He looked at her again. The closeness between them made him feel desire and lust for her. Warmth feelings flooded his body... his heart. He slowly touched her face, caressing gently its sides. She put her hand on his and held it tightly. Tears started to wet her eyes. He slowly kissed her forehead and wiped the tear that was rolling down her face. For the first time he didn’t had difficulty to tell her the truth. That he loved her. That he always has and always will. For the first time in so long he had the courage to tell her that. For the first time he wanted to scream to the world that she was the only woman he has ever loved.. but first he had to tell that to her. He smiled.

B: That I love you, Nora. That I’m truly and passionately in love with you. That I never stopped loving you..

Nora smiled and hugged Bo tightly. He held her tightly too. She kissed the back of his neck and he caressed her back. They hugged each other for what seemed like forever. Then they looked deeply into each other eyes. Nora touched his lips and he played with her hair.

N: I love you, Bo. I love you so much.

B: And I love you, Red. I’m sorry it took me forever to realize that.. I will make it up for you I promise..

N: Forget the past.. it never happened as far as I concern.. what is matter is that you’re here now. That I hold you in my arms that I..

She wiped her tears He wrapped his arms around her waist and smiled.

B: Can I ask you a question?

N: Sure, what is it?

B: If I kiss you, would you think I’m rude?

Nora laughed.

N: Well, actually, if you didn’t kiss me, I would need to kiss you inst..

Bo didn’t let her finish her sentence. All he wanted was to kiss her. To feel her lips against his. To feel her heart beating
against his. To let all the pain he held inside go away. To let the desire and lust he had to take place over his body.. his mind.. his heart. He wanted to feel the warmth of Nora`s body. And she wanted the same. They kissed passionately and let their feelings to make up for all the time they already lost. When they finally broke the kiss they looked happily at each other, both trying to catch their breath again.

N: Wow! That was amazing! I missed that, Bo. I missed it so much.

B: Yea, I missed it too. You are the only woman that has ever made me to feel like that. You are the only woman who own my heart, Red. Forever. I will never let you go again. I love you.

N: I can’t believe it happens. It is absolutely a miracle.

Bo smiled.

B: Well, it is Chanukah today, remember? The holiday of miracles.

Nora looked at the Menorah on the table and then at Bo. She laughed.

N: It really is, isn’t it? I always believed in Chanukah miracles and now it.. it became true. You are a miracle. We are a miracle.. a blessing miracle, Bo.

B: And never doubt that.

Bo got closer to her and kiss her again.

B: Happy Chanukah, Red.

Nora smiled.

N: Happy Chanukah, Bo Buchanan.

They smiled and kissed again and again and again and again.. until Matthew came down and caught them!!!

The End!!
