BO AND NORA'S HOUSE
Bo: "Please, please be still."
Matthew smiled and continued to kick his legs. Bo
continued to plead with his son as he tried to change Matthew's
diaper. "Nora!" Bo
yelled. After he realized that she wasn't coming Bo tried to put
the diaper on again.
"Come on Matt, if you let me do this I'll sneak you a slice
of pizza." Matthew gave Bo
a blank stare, but finally stopped kicking. After a few minutes
and half a roll of
masking tape later Bo surveyed his work. "And Nora said I
couldn't do this."
Nora walked into Matthews nursery as Bo held Matthew in the air.
Nora: "You called, husband of...."
Nora looked at Matthew. "Bo, what'd you do!"
Bo: What? I changed his diaper.
Nora: "Is that what that is?" Nora laughed. "Why
is there tape around him?
Bo: "So the diaper will stay." Nora laughed harder.
"What? Those little tabs came off
so I had to do it. The kid said you did it all the time."
Nora: "I do not." Nora looked at Matthew. "Do I
sweety?" Matthew looked at Bo and Nora.
"Do you want me to take him?"
Bo: Nah. I like holding the little guy. Almost as much as I like
holding you.
Nora: "Awww." The couple kisses. "Well you're going
to have to give him up soon anyway. I
told Will and Jess that I would bring him by in a half an hour."
Bo: Oh yea, they're babysitting for us tonight.
Nora: "Yep." Nora pulls out an outfit for Matthew.
Bo: "Well then maybe you should fix the diaper." Bo
lays Matthew back down.
Nora: How did I know you were going to say that?
Bo: "Because I say it everyday." Bo moves behind Nora
and starts to kiss her neck.
Nora: Bo, you know, our child can see us.
Bo: "Good." Bo turns Nora around and starts dancing
with her. "See Matthew, if you want
to charm the pants or diapers off some girl, just do this.."
Bo dips Nora, brings her up
quickly and kisses her.
Nora: I don't think I want you teaching him this.
Bo: Maybe you're right, the girls in the daycare center won't
know what to do.
Nora: "Right." Nora laughs. "I have to get Matthew
ready."
Bo: "Okay, I guess I have to let you go." Nora starts
to change Matthew as Bo straightens
up the room. "So how long are you going to be gone?"
Nora: Only a few hours. I should have never scheduled a meeting
this late in the day.
I just thought I would still be at work.
Bo: Well you would if you had actually gone to the office today.
Nora: You're probably right. But what can I say, I just can't
bare to be without you.
Bo: Well, you will never have to be without me ever again.
Nora: "Ditto." Nora touches Bo's face.
Bo: I was miserable without you and I never want to be put through
that again.
Nora: You won't have to Bo. You're never getting rid of me.
Bo: "Good." Bo smiles. "How's the diaper situation
coming?"
Nora: Great, see? Diaper is on without the aid of masking tape.
Bo: Impressive.
Nora: Thank you. Now I think we are ready.
Bo: Hurry back okay.
Nora: "You know I will." Nora waved Matthew's hand.
"Bye daddy."
Bo: "See ya slugger." Bo leans over and kisses her.
"See you later honey."
Nora: "Bye commish." Nora grabbed Matthew's bags and
ran out the room.
Bo finally comes downstairs after
finishing up with Matthew's room and pulled out
a stack of photos along with the albums. I better put these away
before they get away from us. Bo began looking through the pictures
and smiled at each one. Bo placed the family photo of them on
a page by itself. On the pages behind it went pictures of Matthew
in the sandbox followed by Nora and Matthew on the swingsets.
After an hour Bo finished with the photo album. Nora should be
home in about an hour or so.....I can't wait. It's been forever
since we've had a chance to be alone and tonight's going to be
perfect. Bo laid down on the couch and fell asleep.
Two hours later Bo slowly woke up. He checked the clock and smiled.
Nora will be home soon. Bo walked over to the phone.
Salesclerk: Logans Department Store.
Jewelry department. Claudia speaking.
Bo: Hello Claudia. This is Bo Buchanan.
Claudia: Hello Mr. Buchanan, how can I help you?
Bo: I was wondering if you could have a bracelet delivered.
Claudia: We sure can. What kind would you like?
Bo: Uh, a charm bracelet.
Claudia: And what would you like on it?
Bo: A baby rattle, a heart, you wouldn't happen to have any chilli
dogs in would you?
Claudia: Well, we have a hotdog.
Bo: That'll work.
Claudia: Is that all?
Bo: It sure is. Can you have that brought by tonight?
Claudia: Yes sir. We'll have it to you in a few hours.
After Bo hung up he headed towards the kitchen, but was turned around after the doorbell rung. After four more rings Bo opened the door.
Bo: "What?" Bo swung the
door open. "Pa!"
Asa: What the hell took you so long to answer the door? Were you
and Nora....busy?
Bo: "No. Nora's not here." Bo moved out of the way to
let Asa in. "What can I do for you?"
Asa: I came by to see that grandson of mine.
Bo: That's really nice of you, but he's not here.
Asa: "He's out with Nora? That's okay, I'll wait." Asa
sat down. "Make yourself useful
and fix me a brandy."
Bo: Uh, he's not with Nora. He is with Will and Jessica.
Asa: Come again?
Bo: He's with Will...
Asa: "I heard what you said!" Asa interrupted. "How
can you let that Rappaport kid get
anywhere near my grandson?"
Bo: Look Asa, Will is a good kid and if he and Jess want to babysit
Matthew, Nora and I
certainly aren't going to say no. It's been forever since we've
gotten a chance to
be alone. So just save it.
Asa: Boy I just don't understand you. He's going to be a bad influence
on Matthew.
Bo: You know who's going to be a bad influence? You!
Asa: Me?
Bo: Yea, Pa. I remember what you did to Drew when he went to work
for you at Buchanan
enterprises. I'm not going to let you do that to Matthew and I
know Nora isn't.
Asa: What are you trying to say Bo?
Bo: "I'm trying to say that if you don't cool it you will
the be the one who won't be
seeing my son." Bo said sternly.
Asa: I don't believe this. My son is letting a filthy Rappaport
come before me. The whole
world has gone mad.
Bo: It sure has.
Asa: Look, just go get the little tyke and all will be forgiven.
Bo: I'm not going to get Matthew! He's fine where he is.
Asa: You are doing some lousy parenting Bo!
Bo: Well if you don't like the way we are raising our son, then
you don't have to see
him.
Asa: "Fine!" Asa jumped from his chair and stormed to
the door. "Oh and Bo, you're
out of my will." The door slammed behind Asa.
Bo: "I didn't know you put me back in it!" Bo could
hear Asa's car screeching down the
street. "I am not going to let him ruin my evening."
Bo went back over to the phone
and called Nora.
Nora: Hello.
Bo: Hi honey.
Nora: "Well this is a pleasant surprise."
Bo: Where are you?
Nora: I'm in the car as we speak, I should be home in probably
fifteen minutes.
Bo: Good.
Nora: Is everything okay? You don't sound too happy.
Bo: I just had a huge fight with Asa.
Nora: Enough said. Hmm, a night with Asa, sounds like you deserve
a little TLC.
Bo: Hmm, you have something in mind?
Nora: Just wait until I get home Buchanan, I am going to make
you feel so good." Nora
smiled.
Bo: Can't wait.
Nora: Bye.
Bo: Bye.
Nora turned on the radio and continued
to drive. A smile appeared on her face as she
thought about Bo. I am so lucky to have him. How did we ever survive
these past months
without each other? As she turned a corner a cat darted out on
the road causing Nora to
swerve across the road. Nora stopped the car on the side of the
road to collect herself.
Nora: "Come on Nora, it was just a cat....I think. You're almost home."
After a few moments Nora put the car
in drive and continued on her way home. My
Girl came on the radio and Nora immediately called Bo.
Bo: Buchanan.
Nora: I've got something that'll cheer you up.
Bo: Nora?
Nora: I've got sunshine, on a cloudy day, when it's cold outside,
I've got the month of
May. Well I guess you say what can make me feel this way, my girl,
my girl, my girl..
Bo smiled and laughed as Nora sung with the radio. Bo danced with the phone around the living room until Nora abruptly stopped. Bo heard tires screeching before Nora let out a deafening scream, the line went dead.
Bo: "Nora?" Bo nervously
called for his wife. "Red?" Bo hung up the phone and
redialed
Nora's number, this time getting the operator, who informed him
that the
line was dead. Bo stood in front of the phone, hoping that Nora
would call him
back, but a sick feeling fell over him. Bo grabbed his car keys
and ran out the door
in search of Nora.
Bo's car sped down the street. Ambulance lights pulling away caught his eye up the road and he pulled over at the site. Bo quickly got out of his car and took in the scene, policemen were everywhere, one of the cars looked familiar to Bo and was dented badly in the front corner, the other car was in front of a tree, Nora's car. Oh God. Bo ran towards the car, only to find it empty. The closest cop near Bo got pulled over to him.
Bo: Where's Nora?
Officer: Um Commissioner.....
Bo: "Where is Nora?" Bo was becoming impatient. Detective
Sykes walked up behind
Bo.
Sykes: Could you leave us alone Officer?
Bo: John, Would you please tell me where the hell my wife is?
Sykes: Bo, she's been.........
