AFTERMATH PART 3
Setting: Nora's house. Nora told Bo she still loves him. Matthew displayed a bond toward Bo.
Bo: Now I really need a drink.
Nora: Bo, are you okay? She gets him a shot of whiskey.
B: No. He gulps down the shot of booze.
N: What are you thinking? Talk to me.
B: I don't know what to think. I'm sitting here in my ex-wife's
new house - bought for her by her fiancé, playing with
their child, and my ex-wife just told me she still loves me after
being apart for more than a year.
Nora sits down next to Bo on the couch.
N: Bo, look at me. I know you're hurting.
I am too.
B: I know you are Nora. It's written all over your face. I always
knew when something was wrong with you just by looking at you.
N: You always knew me best.
B: But Nora, you've got to understand. I find it hard to believe
that you are over Sam. I know he hurt you, but
N: Yes Bo. I do care about Sam. He's always going to be a part
of my life because of Matthew. However, I've been betrayed by
him.
B: Betrayed enough never to forgive him?
N: Yes.
B: OK, but I'm still dealing with my feelings for Lindsay.
N: I see. Well like I said before, I know you don't feel the same
way about me.
B: Nora, you know I love you and I care about you
N: But, you are not in love with me.
B: Being here with you, seeing you with Matthew, seeing that light
in your eyes when you talk to me, I want to be, I need to be,
I want to forget this whole past year - pretend it never happened,
but I can't.
N: You really would consider forgiving Lindsay? After all she's
done to us. She's evil to the core Bo and she would hurt you again,
given the chance.
B: I'm not saying that. I couldn't go back to her. I couldn't
trust her again.
N: OK, well, I've said what I needed to I guess. I'm not asking
you to run back into my arms and into my life. Bo, I just want
you to think. Think about your needs, your hopes, your life, but
also remember us - what we were and what we could be again.
B: Well, that's a lot to consider. I was happy - we were happy.
Maybe I was kidding myself with Lindsay. I just don't
know. But I'm going to need time. I need to sort through all my
feelings.
N: That's all I'm asking.
B: Nora, you've been so understanding toward me after I said some
pretty rotten things to you. But you have to realize how angry
and shocked I was after what happened.
N: I know that. I understand.
B: I apologize for what I said. I hate that I've been such a jerk
to you when you only wanted to help me.
N: Thank you. I appreciate that. You softened the blow a bit with
what you just said.
B: I think I should go now.
N: Well, I'm glad you stopped by and we could talk about things.
B (laughs): Yeah! We sure did.
N (laughing too): And Matthew enjoyed your company.
B: It was fun. He's a great kid.
Bo and Nora are standing at the door.
A bright beam of sunshine comes through the windows and surrounds Nora.
Bo looks at her and she looks exceptionally beautiful to him, almost angelic, with this bright smile and shining eyes - like a beacon - like he remembered.
Suddenly, unexpectedly, he's filled with emotion and he reaches for her, grabs her around the waist, and begins to kiss her and Nora gladly and eagerly reciprocates.
