All Over Again
Chapter Three

Six Months Later....

"You want me to go where?" Nora asked as she sat on her couch looking up at the presence in her doorway.

"Dallas. You know, a major metropolitan city in Texas." Asa said, sitting down next to her on the couch.

"And explain to me again why you want me to go to Dallas."

Asa sighed. "To help settle a land dispute. The Buchanan Ranch isn't far from Dallas and we are having some problems with the neighboring farmer claiming that my fence lines are actually on his land."

"Oh Asa, haven't you heard? The farmer and the rancher can get along."

"I swear to you Nora, I've tried. There's a creek that runs through my property and one day we discovered that this farmer, Timothy Johnson, had set up and irrigation pipe channeling the water from the creek to his wells. My foreman visited Mr. Johnson and explained that he did not have permission to use the water from the creek and that if he didn't remove the pipe within the week it would be removed for him. A week later it was still there so my hands removed the pipe, dumping it over the fence onto his property. The next day my fence was down, 100 head of my cattle were missing, and the pipe was back in place. My hands fixed the fence and removed the pipe again. The next day that scum filed a lawsuit claiming that I was stealing his land by putting my fence up past the property line."

Nora shifted on the couch to face Asa. "Is there in validity to his claim?"

"Hell woman, I may have done alot of questionable things in my life but steal land? If I wanted that worthless farm I would have just bought the damn thing." Asa grumbled.

Nora smiled slightly. "Ok, but why do you need me? I know for a fact you have a whole legal team at your beck and call. Why do I have to leave my family to go to Dallas?"

Asa frowned at Nora's use of the term family but didn't say anything. "We've been having some problems with Buchanan Enterprises and all my attorneys are tied up in that. I've hired someone in Dallas that specializes in land disputes but I would really like to have someone there to oversee things. Someone I trust. Please Nora."

Nora stood up and began to walk around her living room. "How long would I be gone?"

Asa smiled, sensing victory. "One week. Ten days, tops. I'll fly you down in my private jet, arrange for a car and driver for you and put you up in the best accomidations Dallas has to offer."

"Fine, I'll do it under one condition. You pay me double my going rate. Deal?"

Asa stood and walked over to Nora, taking her hand in his own. "Deal."

Denton, Texas

Bo sat back in his chair in his new office and picked up the name plack at the front of the desk. Bo Buchanan, Private Investigator. He smiled, after six months things were finally started coming together. He had gotten his P.I.'s liscence, met up with some old friends, and he didn't think about Nora... much.

Today was his first official day on the job and now all he had to do was wait for someone, anyone to walk in the door. A few minutes later the phone rang.

"Buchanan."

"Hey Bo, it's James."

Bo smiled. James Watson was an old highschool friend that was now an attorney in Dallas. James had just gotten a divorce and the two bachelors had spent alot of time together. Golfing, riding, going out to bars. James had promised Bo to throw some work his way once he got his liscence.

"Hey Jimbo, what's up?"

"You feel ready to take on your first case?"

Bo slammed his hand down on the desk. "Hot damn! Thank you so much James. What are the details."

James sighed on the other end. "I can't get into it right now. Let's get together for dinner later in the week to talk about it."

Bo nodded at his end. "Burgers and beer and O'Niels?"

"Sounds good. I'll see you then."

Bo hung up the phone and smiled. His first case. He knew if he did a good job more cases would pour in after that. Now all he had to do was make sure they won the case.

Nora was just coming down the stairs with her suitcase when Sam came in through the front door. He smiled at her but it faded quickly when he saw the suitcase.

"What's with the suitcase?"

Nora sat the suitcase down and sighed. It wasn't going to be easy telling Sam where she was going. "I actually wanted to talk to you about that. I need you to watch Matthew for a week or ten days. I need to go to Texas on a case."

"I wish I could Nora but I am leaving town tomorrow."

Nora looked at Sam quizically. "Where are you going?"

Sam sighed. "To Switzerland. Lindsay's doctors are transferring her to an institution there and Will and I want to go check it out and maybe even visit Jenn."

"Why do you even care about Lindsay any more? After everything she did to Bo, to me, to us? Why is she even worth the trouble?"

Sam's face turned red. "She's the mother of two of my children Nora. And they are locking her away in a looney bin."

"That's because she's looney," Nora shouted.

"Nora, I'm going. Why don't you get out of whatever you are doing?"

Nora threw her hands up in the air. "Because Sam. I made a commitment and I can't break it."

"Fine Nora but, I made a commitment too. I can't just hang Lindsay out to dry."

Nora took a deep breath. "Fine. That's fine Sam but, if you leave here to go be with Lindsay don't bother coming back. You won't have any place in my life."

Sam looked at her for a moment before shaking his head and walking back out the front door. Nora sighed and sat down on the couch, picking up the phone. She dialed a number and waited for an answer.

"Hello Mama? I'm doing ok. Listen, how would you like to have your youngest grandchild come stay for awhile?"
