All Over Again
Chapter Six

7:30 PM
O'Niels Bar and Grille

James Watson pulled his black Lexus SUV into the parking lot and hurried towards the front entrance at the bar. He had gotten stuck in traffic and discovered his cellphone's battery was dead when he tried to call to tell the people he was meeting he was running late. He walked quickly through the doors but stopped short when he realized how quiet it was inside.

O'Niels wasn't known as a quiet bar. Oldies were always playing loudly on the jukebox, people were always laughing and applauding the dancers out on the floor so the uncharacteristic silence piqued James' curiosity. He stepped further into the bar and when the dance floor came into view he understood what was attracting everyone's attention.

The couple on the dance floor were kissing with a desperate longing and neither seemed to be able to get enough of the other. It wasn't offensive or inappropriate. It was obvious to all the onlookers that the couple was very much in love and they couldn't help but watch them and smile. But something else drew James' attention to the couple. The silky, luminous, red hair.

James made his way onto the dancefloor and cleared his throat. Nora and Bo pulled apart causing the crowd to go back to their laughing, drinking and just having a good time.

"James!" Bo and Nora exclaimed in unison.

James smiled. "I see the two of you have met already."

"Wait a minute," Nora replied. "THIS is your private eye?"

"And don't tell me, this is the attorney assisting you on the case?" Bo asked.

"Guilty on both accounts. Can we sit and discuss this?"

"Sure," Bo replied motioning to their booth. James slid into one side and Nora slid into the other with Bo sitting next to her.

"So, how do the two of you know each other?" James asked.

Nora and Bo looked at each other and laughed. "Actually, Bo and I used to be married."

"Of course, I can't believe I didn't piece it all together. I knew Asa was Bo's father when I asked him to get involved in this case but for some reason I thought you were one of Asa's many exes."

Nora nearly choked on her beer. "ASA??!! You thought I was married to Asa? No James, I like to think I have better taste than that."

"Thanks Red, I think. So, what does this case have to do with my father?" Bo asked cautiously.

James opened his briefcase and pulled out three file folders and handed them to Bo. "See for yourself."

Two hours later...

Bo, Nora and James had finished their dinner and had spent the past fourty-five minutes or so intently discussing Asa's case. James sat back in the booth and looked at Bo. "So, what do you think?"

"I don't think it should be that difficult to prove Pa's case. I mean, either the fence is in the right place or it isn't. I think I'll go to the ranch tomorrow, grab a horse, and ride out to the creek and then along the fenceline. Just to check things out. You guys want to join me?"

James took a drink of his beer. "I'd love too buddy but I have to be in court all day tomorrow."

"That's ok. How about you Red?"

Nora looked at him and shifted uncomfortably. "Uh Bo, I'm not sure...."

"Actually Nora," James started, "it might help us out if you go along with Bo."

"Ok, I guess."

"Good. Listen guys, it's been fun but I've got briefs to go over before tomorrow. Nora, do you need a ride?"

Nora smiled. "No thanks James. I'll just call my driver."

"All right. Night guys."

Bo and Nora watched as James left and then Bo turned to her. "You know, I can give you a ride to your hotel. No need bothering your driver."

"Ok, sounds good. Let's go." Nora gathered her purse and briefcase and she and Bo headed out of O'Niels.

The Dallas Hilton

Bo and Nora walked up to the door to her suite and stopped. Bo took the key from Nora and unlocked the door, holding it open. She took the key from him and dropped it into her purse.

"So, what time should I be ready in the morning?" Nora asked nervously.

Bo smiled at her nervousness. "Is 9 o'clock ok? It'll take us awhile to drive there and then ride out to the site."

"Sure 9 sounds fine."

"Ok, so I'll see you then?"

Nora looked down, shuffled her feet, and then looked back up into Bo's eyes. "See you then."

Bo smiled and turned to leave. He was halfway down the hall when he turned back around, walked up to her, and pulled her into his arms. Their lips met and they shared a sweet but passion filled kiss. Finally, Nora pulled away and touched his face lightly before walking into her room and closing the door.

Once inside she took a deep breath and pressed her forehead against the door. On the other side Bo sighed and leaned back against the door.

"Goodnight Bo," she whispered quietly.

"Goodnight Red," he said before turning away and heading towards the elevator.
