Alone at Last Part 2
Nora looked back and got a little nervous when she couldn't see land anymore. Bo looked in the opposite direction and got a little nervous when he saw the black threatening clouds quickly coming their way.
Bo: Nora, I think we better head back
Nora: I'm ok honestly. I'm actually rather enjoying this
Bo: I am too honey, but look behind me. I think the weather is
about to change. Looks like a storm coming our way
Nora looks behind Bo, the smile immediately vanishing from her
face: Oh my God. Let's go
Bo shouts out for Nora to change sides as he brings about the
sail. She narrowly misses being bonked on the head as she ducks
under the boom. Within minutes the winds pick up force and the
waves start lapping at the sides of the boat.
Bo: Do up your life jacket honey and hold on tight
Nora does as she's told. Can't she get it through his thick skull
that she's a city girl and likes it that way?? What the heck was
she doing out in the middle of the South Pacific, riding the waves
with a Texas cowboy?
The storm was picking up speed and soon the boat was being thrown
around like a piece of driftwood. Bo let go of the rudder as there
was no use trying to steer the boat, and climbed over to take
a seat across from Nora. The rain started coming down in sheets
Bo: HOLD ON TIGHT HONEY. IT'LL PASS SOON
Nora: BO??!!!
Bo: THESE STORMS NEVER LAST LONG - JUST SIT TIGHT
The boom started moving quickly back and forth and within seconds
the sail tore off the mast and flew off into oblivion. At this
point the water was pouring into the boat, both from the waves
and the torrential rain storm. As the boat bounced around, Nora
lost her hold and flew across the boat landing in front of Bo.
He pulled her up onto the seat and they held on tight, praying
for this nightmare to end.
As fast as the storm fell upon them it ended just as abruptly.
The sky cleared and the water was as smooth as glass. Nora pulled
her head out from Bo's shoulder and looked around her, shaking
uncontrollably.
Nora: It's over? We're saved?
Bo: It's over, yes. Saved? well that's a problem.
Nora: We don't know where we are, do we?
Bo: Well no. And even if we did know, we have nothing to steer
the boat back
Nora: Oh Bo, that's not good is it?
Bo: Not exactly. There's nothing much to do but let the current
take us - hopefully to shore and soon
Silence prevailed as they sat huddled together, letting the now
hot sun warm up their freezing bodies. Bo started bailing out
the water with a can that was stored under a seat but the heat
was getting to him. They sat and waited and waited and waited.
As the day wore on they took turns sleeping, always having
one of them on the look out - maybe they'd spot another boat,
or maybe they'd find land. Nora was the first to see it. An island
came into view and as it got larger and larger she sighed with
relief.
Nora: Bo, wake up honey. Land - look over there, land!
Bo squinted as he looked forward: And we're heading right to it.
As the boat got closer to the beach, Bo jumped out and led it
to shore. He helped Nora off and pulled the boat up onto the sand.
Their legs were like jelly as they tried to walk farther in and
eventually both fell down, laughing as they fell. They laid on
their backs and stared at the now beautiful blue sky
Nora: Well this is a fine kettle of fish. Bo what are we going
to do?
Bo: The guys at the hotel will know there's a problem when we
don't show up this evening. They'll be out looking for us in the
morning
Nora: The morning!!! You mean we have to stay here all night?
But Bo...
Bo: Don't worry about it - is staying on a private beach with
your main squeeze so terrible? Just think about the possibilities
Nora: I'm thinking more about food and water and warmth
Bo: And me?
Nora smiles and turns to face him. She runs her fingers through
his messy damp hair and moves in on him where they have their
very first make out session on their very own beach on their very
own island. Without noticing, the tide was moving in on them too
and eventually they were engulfed in the salty warm water.
Nora: Guess we should move huh
Bo: Guess...I'm starving
Nora: So I've noticed
It wasn't easy to let go, but duty called
Bo: I'll get the picnic basket from the boat and see if anything
can be salvaged. Collect some dry wood and let's see if we can
get a fire going for the night. It's gonna get pretty cool after
sunset.
Nora: Yes sir, cap'n sir
They regrouped in a few minutes
Nora: So are we gonna eat tonight?
Bo: Amazing. This basket is waterproofed - there's a whole load
of food here
Nora: The sun is getting pretty low - are these logs ok?
Bo looks at the sad collection of twigs and smiles: I think I'll
look around for just a few more. We'll need some thicker ones
to rub together to spark a flame. You get the dinner ready.
Nora digs into the basket and finds a plastic bag. She pulls out
the contents and moves the basket and everything farther away
from the water. By the time Bo got back Nora was sipping some
amazing French wine and boiling some water for coffee over the
fire
Bo: Hey, how'd you do that?
Nora: Corkscrew!
Bo: No, the fire
Nora: Oh this old thing. Just rubbed a couple of sticks together
Bo: Yea, right. That takes know how - it takes practice - it takes
Nora: Matches?
Bo put the pile of wood he was carrying down beside the fire and
sat down close to Nora. He kissed her gently on the lips. "You
know what the one thing I would take if I was ever stranded on
a desert island again?"
Nora: Me?
Bo: You got it honey
They ate some cold chicken and some fruit and kept the rest for later. By "later" Nora knew Bo meant tomorrow and she wasn't happy at the thought they might not be found right away. Bo built up the fire for the night and the two huddled together in the warmth of the fire and slept.
The sun was beating down on them when Nora woke. She left
Bo still sleeping, pulled off her t shirt and shorts and went
into the water for a quick swim. Now this was something she could
get very used to. After a few minutes, Bo came up behind her in
the water and put his arms around her feeling her warm silky skin
Bo: Ummm forget something?
Nora reached behind her: Seems like we both had the same idea
He turned her around and they smiled at each other. A touch here,
a touch there, and then it was Love, Bo and Nora style once again!
Bo and Nora were holding each other in the water, their
naked bodies tight to each other.
Nora: We better get back to the beach and get some clothes on.
The rescue crew could be coming at any minute
Bo: We wouldn't want them to think we were enjoying ourselves
or anything
Nora: They might just turn around and leave us here
Bo: Well that wouldn't be so bad, would it?
Nora: I could handle it for a few more days. Bo, in your wildest
dreams did you ever think we'd ever get to this point?
Bo: Fighting a tropical storm and being shipwrecked?
Nora: No, you know. You and me together again, so much in love,
so happy.
Bo: To be honest, I wouldn't let myself think about it. It was
just too painful because I really didn't think we could start
over again. What I did know was that I wanted you to be happy
and if that meant with someone else, then I would have to live
with that.
Nora: What changed your mind?
Bo: A lot of things I guess. So many bad things were happening
to you and to me and my mind kept reaching out for that light
at the end of the tunnel. The fun and love we had for each other
kept popping into my head until I finally listened to it. Maybe
we could have it all again, if we really tried.
Nora: I never ever stopped loving you, you know. Frustrated, angry,
a bit jealous, yes, but I never stopped wanting you back in my
life
Bo: Will you marry me Red?
Nora: Nope
Bo pushes her back and stares at her: Nope? Is that all you have
to say?
Nora: Been there, done that. I promise to love, honour and cherish
you forever Bo Buchanan, but I'm not going to marry you
Bo: Well then I promise to love, honour and cherish you forever
too Nora Buchanan
Nora: You do?
Bo: I do
Bo takes her in his arms again and they seal their commitment
to each other with a long intense passionate kiss.
"Ahem"
Bo and Nora break apart and look towards the beach. They see before
them a man, tall and bronzed, hair to his shoulders, hands on
his hips, glaring at them.
