At Last – Part 14
Last Time:
After talking to the press for an hour, he looks to see if he can find Nora again. She’s nowhere to be found. He finds Tim.
BO: Tim…did you see Nora here?
TIM: Yes sir. She was standing right over there (pointing). She was plenty worried about you.
BO (smiling): She was? I wonder where she went.
Bo heads to the office to start the paperwork to make sure these guys stay in jail for a nice long time. At about 8:00 he’s ready to call it a day so he heads home. As he’s digging out the keys from his pocket he senses someone else in the hallway. He turns around.
NORA: Bo.
BO: Nora?
She runs into his arms and he holds her tight.

Bo smiles as he continues to hold her tighter.
BO: What are you doing here?
NORA: I just had to see you. Are you okay?
BO: I’m fine. I didn’t get hurt. (kissing her neck gently) Holding you feels so good.
NORA: I can’t think of a better place to be than in your arms. I love you Bo.
Bo pulls back from the embrace and looks Nora in the eyes. He kisses her passionately.
BO: I love you too Red. So very very much.
Bo and Nora continue to kiss in the hallway. They are soon interrupted by Mrs. Gerten from across the hall.
MRS.G (in a snit): This is not the kind of behavior I expect from the Police Commissioner.
BO (grinning like a banshee): I’m sorry Mrs. G. But I can’t help myself. I’m madly on love with this woman!
MRS G: Well then maybe you should move inside your own apartment so the rest of us don’t have to watch you.
BO: That’s the best I idea that I’ve heard today. Goodnight Mrs. G.
Bo unlocks the door and he and Nora walk in arm and arm. As soon as they are inside they both burst out laughing.
NORA: Okay…that has to one of my more embarrassing moments. Caught necking with the Police Commissioner outside his apartment.
BO: More embarrassing than our honeymoon when we never got out of bed and had to beat away the cleaning people?
NORA (laughing): This may be worse. At least I don’t have to ever see those cleaning people again.
BO: But it was worth it wasn’t it?
NORA (smiling): Oh yea. It was more than worth it.
Nora walks into Bo’s arms and they start kissing again. Soon Bo has maneuvered the both of them onto the couch. He slowly lays her back as he continues to kiss her passionately.
NORA: Bo….
BO: Yea….
NORA: I want you so much…make love to me.
Bo pulls back and smiles at her.
BO: You don’t have to ask me twice.
Bo slowly brushes his hands through Nora’s hair as he continues to kiss her. Nora holds him as tightly as she can. They make love slowly, passionately, forgetting all of the hurt of the past, thinking only of their future together. They eventually fall asleep on the floor under a down comforter. Bo wraps Nora in his arms as they snuggle up together. He wraps his legs around her and holds her close, so close that she could feel his heart beat against her back.
Nora wakes first in the morning. She is still lying in Bo’s arms. She watches him sleep…snoring slightly. She smiles as she softly caresses his chest. Bo stirs slightly.
BO: Oh man…this was such a mistake.
NORA (panicking): What? This was a mistake?
BO (pulling her close and kissing her deeply): No. No no no. This (waving his hand between the two of them)…this was NOT a mistake. Sleeping on the floor last night…that was a mistake.
NORA (smiling and snuggling closer): I like sleeping on the floor with you. It’s been a long time since we’ve done that.
BO (kissing her deeply): I love sleeping with you too but I think I’m too damn old to sleep on the floor any more.
NORA (smiling): Well you weren’t too old for anything else last night.
BO (smiling): Really?
NORA: Really. Think you can get that old body of yours going again this morning?
BO: Maybe. What’s it worth to you?
Nora whispers in his ear and he bursts out laughing. Bo slowly rolls over taking Nora with him.
BO: I guess that’ll have to do. I love you Red.
NORA: I love you too Commish.
A couple hours later Bo and Nora are in the tub. Nora is resting with her back against Bo’s chest while he caresses her all over.
NORA: This is so nice. I could do this every morning.
BO: If we did this every morning we’d never go to work.
NORA (laughing): What would be so bad about that?
BO: You’re right. Nothing wrong with that at all. And we’d be the cleanest people in town.
Nora turns around to kiss Bo. Just as things start to heat up the phone rings.
NORA: Why in the world do you have a phone in here?
BO: I have to have it for emergencies.
Bo looks at the caller ID and smiles.
BO: It’s your mom. Should I answer it?
NORA: You better. Something may be wrong with Matt.
BO (answering the phone): Buchanan.
SELMA: Oh thank goodness you’re there Bo. I tried your office but that nice Janis told me that you hadn’t come in yet. We saw the bank robbery on the news. Are you okay?
BO: I’m just fine Selma. Thanks for asking though.
SELMA: The real reason I called was that I was looking for Nora. Have you talked to her?
Bo covers the phone and looks at Nora.
BO (whispering): She’s looking for you. Want me to tell her we were just going to make love in the bathtub?
NORA (laughing quietly): Don’t you dare. Tell her that you’ll get me.
BO (to Selma): She was here a second ago. Let me see if I can find her. She might be in the kitchen (yelling) NORA…IT’S YOUR MOM!!
Nora slaps him on the arm and takes the phone from him. She waits a few seconds before talking.
NORA: Momma…is Matthew okay?
SELMA: Matthew is just fine. I was worried about you. I thought you might call but when you didn’t I tried to call your house but there wasn’t an answer. Where were you?
NORA (looking quickly at Bo): I just turned the phone off. I needed some time alone.
SELMA: But you’re at Bo’s now?
NORA: We decided to have breakfast together and to talk.
Bo starts to rub his hands over Nora’s back and around to her breasts. She almost goes into a trance because it feels so good.
SELMA: What’s that splashing noise?
NORA (suddenly embarrassed): Oh..I was just helping Bo with the breakfast dishes. (whispering to Bo): Stop that.
Bo kisses her quickly. Selma finally figures out what is going on and smiles to herself.
SELMA: Well I’m just glad that you two are together and “talking.”
NORA: So am I momma. I think I’ll come pick up Matthew tomorrow morning if that’s okay with you?
SELMA: That’s more than okay. We can easily spoil him another day!! And don’t you two stay in the tub too long. You’ll get all wrinkled.
NORA (totally embarrassed): We won’t momma. I’ll see you tomorrow.
Nora puts the phone down and then puts her face into Bo’s chest.
BO: What? What did she say?
NORA: She told us not to stay in the tub too long. Yet another embarrassing moment in as many days. Now my mother knows that we were making love in the tub.
BO (kissing her deeply): Well…we never actually got to the making love part. And I wouldn’t want to disappoint your mom.
NORA (smiling): Do you know how much I love you?
BO: As much as I love you?
NORA (kissing him deeply): Yep…that much!!!
