Last time:

He paused for a moment and took a deep breath. He couldn’t believe he was going to get himself in such troubles but he had to do it. For Nora’s sake. For his son’s sake.

B: I can’t believe I’m offering this, but what do you think about working undercover with me?

N: What do you mean?

B: They said he works in a nightclub. How do you feel about go dancing?

Nora smiled. She could see where he was striving to.

N: Well, I don’t think I will be able to sleep anyway so I guess I’d say let’s go!

B: Are you sure you’ll be ok? I mean if he is our guy, you can’t let anyone know it. And it will be hard. You can’t panic on me. No one can know that we’re going after him. We must be careful.

N: I’ll be all right.

B: And remember, you must listen to me. You won’t leave my side for even a second, clear?

She nodded.

N: Yes.

B: So let’s change and go see if you can recognize him.
**********************************
A gentle quiet overcame them as they drove. Nora leaned her head against the cold window. She looked outside but her mind was somewhere else far away. She was scared. She was nervous. Was he the man who attacked her? Was she ready to face him? Would she be able to restrain her feelings? And what if... she closed her eyes and felt the tears wetting her cheeks. She remembered that day. That horrible day. Then she thought about Matthew. Poor Matthew. She missed him so badly. She knew Bo was right to send him off to her parents but she wanted him near her. She slowly wiped her tears. She had to think of his best first. And she knew that she had to relax and to search some strength deep inside of her. Then she could face her fear and be there for her son who depended her and for her daughter who needed her.

Bo looked at the way. He wasn’t sure it was the right thing to do, to bring Nora with him, but he couldn’t think of any other way they could find that bastard. And he couldn’t think of anything else but catching him and make him pay. He was scared. He didn’t know if he was scared of Nora’s reaction when she sees that man or if he was scared of his own reaction when he gets to face that man that hurt Nora. His gaze turned to Nora. She was silent. She was looking out the window. He could see that she wasn’t paying attention to the outside world. She was sunken deeply into her thoughts. And she was crying, he could see that, though she tried to hide her tears. He turned his gaze back at the road in front of him. He felt his stomach cringing. And so was his heart. He thought about Matthew. About the night he found Matthew sitting beside Nora on the floor. He would never be able to forget the look in his eyes. In his son’s eyes. He was so happy the last months. Spending time with the son he got as a second chance. The games, the movies and the laughter they shared together. The fishing trip they had together. It meant so much to him. He loved that boy so much. He wished he could forget the fear, the pain into his son’s eyes. Into Nora’s eyes. Nora. She has been great all the way since they found out the truth about Matthew. She gave him the time to get to know his son. To let their son to know his father. She was supporting and understanding all the way. He remembered one night that they both looked at Matthew sleeping so peacefully. He remembered how their eyes locked. Her eyes were sparkling. He wished that her eyes were sparkling once again. He knew that he would do anything to see her so happy as she was that night.

Bo parked the car. When Nora felt that the car was stopped she turned to look at Bo. He looked at her too. They looked silently and deeply into one another’s eyes.
B: We’re here.

Nora looked outside and then turned back to Bo. He sighed.

B: Are you sure you’re ready for this? We can still go back, Nora...

No. She couldn’t go back. Not now when she came this far. She promised herself she would do anything in her power to get her life back. And if not for herself so for her son and daughter who needed her.

N: I’m ready.

B: Ok.

They came out of the car and walked towards the club. They stopped when they arrived the entrance. Bo took her hand and squeezed it.

B: Put on your best smile, Nora, and remember you have to stick to me.

She nodded.

N: Don’t worry, I’ll be a good girl.

They smiled and walked inside the club. They expected to find a loud, crowded club with hot rock music. Instead they found themselves surprised. It wasn’t crowded. The music wasn’t playing loudly. It actually seemed like a nice place. People were dancing on the dance floor. Some others sat by the bar. There was a small stage. On the stage they saw a small band playing. Guitarist, pianist and two singers. They were playing Oldies. [Author note: Ok, it’s kind of predictable, I know, but I just couldn’t picture Bo and Nora in a loud, crowded club, dancing to the Trance music!! LOL!!] Nora looked around. She was nervous. She felt her body trembling. She took Bo`s hand and held it tightly. He looked at her and smiled. Assuring her that she was protected with him. Bo looked around. He wasn’t sure he knew what he was looking for but he wanted to make sure what was going on there first. It seemed like there was nothing illegal. It was a normal nightclub.

Nora looked at him.

N: What are we going to do now?

B: I guess that we’d better mix with everyone. We can’t look suspicious.

He looked at the area where some people sat.

B: Let’s find somewhere to sit down and then think what we’re going to do next.

She nodded and took the hand he offered her. She followed him. They sat down. She was still nervous. Always looking over her shoulder. She hated to feel so fragile, unsecured.

N: So? What are we going to do now?

A young waitress stopped by their table.

W: Anything to drink?

They ordered their drinks, even though the last thing Nora could have thought of was to relax and have some drink, but they had to act normally. They couldn’t let anyone suspect why they were there. When the waitress was about to leave Bo stopped her.

B: Excuse me, I was wondering if the manager was around, I’d like to speak to him.

Nora looked confusingly at Bo. What the hell was he doing? He can’t talk to him. Was he nuts? Bo noticed her look, but he only nodded slightly, assuring her she had nothing to worry about.

W: Why? Is there any problem, sir?

B: No, not at all, it’s just business...

W: Well, he’s not here yet; usually he comes around midnight and takes control over the bar.

B: Oh, I see, Thank you.

She left their table. Nora stared at him.

N: You’re not really going to talk to him, are you?

B: No, I don’t think I will be able to control my feelings once I face him, I just wanted to know if he is around.

Nora looked at her watch. It was 23:05. She wasn’t sure she could handle too much time in that place. It was a mistake, she thought. They shouldn’t have come there.

N: Bo, maybe we should leave.. I’m not sure I can wait. I’m too nervous and scared; this place makes me feel creepy.

B: Are you sure you want to go?

Nora slightly laughed. Her laughter was mingled with fear, panic and despair.

N: No, I’m not sure. I want to catch this bastard, but I’m not sure I can sit in here and act like nothing is going on. I can barely breath. Knowing that he can come in any minute...

B: Look, you’re too nervous. We have to keep your mind off of that for a while.

N: You will have to think of a really good way, because right now nothing can distract me.

Bo smiled. His look shifted to the dance floor. He wasn’t sure he knew the song the band was playing but it had the style of music he and Nora loved to dance to a while back. Nora followed his gaze. When their eyes met one another’s they both smiled.

N: You want to dance? God, Bo, I don’t think I can stand on my feet right now, I can’t dance...

Bo rose up and offered her his hand. Smiling.

B: Of course you can, and besides if you fall I’ll be right here to catch you before you touch the floor.

Nora smiled. How could she resist his smile? Hell, she thought, at least she could get her mind busy, if that was possible. She took his hand and let him lead her towards the dance floor. They stood there, looking at each other before Bo pulled her closer and held her. At first she pulled back a little. She felt uncomfortable to be close to him or anyone else. He just smiled at her. She smiled and was grateful to see the understanding look in his eyes. Once they were wrapped up into the dancing they both forgot the reason they came there. It was only them. Dancing. Doing the best thing they did together. Nora couldn’t even think of anything else but being into his arms, moving their bodies together in perfect rhythm along with the music. They smiled and laughed. They both missed that. After a few rhythmical songs, a slow song began to play. They stopped. Still holding hands they pulled back and looked deeply into one another’s eyes. Smiling, they got closer again. Bo wrapped his arm around her waist. Nora wrapped hers around his neck. Holding each other’s free hand. Their eyes locked together as they started to move their bodies together along with the music.

"Really thought that I
Could live without you
Really thought that I
Could make it on my own
Sent you away
Yeah, I said I didn't need you
I let you go
Now I'm so lost, without you
Now you're not here
And now I know

Lonely is the night, when I'm not with you
Lonely is the night
(There's) Ain't no light shining through
Till you're here in my arms
Till you're here by my side
Lonely am I"

It felt perfect. Natural. Good. To hold each other. To look into each other’s eyes. To dance together. Nora looked into his blue eyes and smiled. She couldn’t think of anything else but being into his arms. She couldn’t feel scared or fragile any more. Into his arms she felt secured and strong. Bo couldn’t take his eyes off of hers. She was so beautiful. He adored her. She rested her head on his shoulder and he wrapped both his hands around her waist. They held each other tightly.

"Never thought that I,
That I would need you
Never thought that I,
That I'd be missing you
Gotta get you back
I've just got to find your way now
To let you know
Love's so lost, without you
Now this world just ain't right

Lonely is the night, when I'm not with you
Lonely is the night
(There's) Ain't no light shining through
Till you're here in my arms
Till you're here by my side
Lonely am I"

It seemed like he couldn’t let go of her. He didn’t want to let go of her. He wanted to hold her into his arms forever. The old feelings of wholeness, safety, purity, happiness and…. love flooded his body. He gently stroked her hair. Taking breath of her scent. It felt great. She clung strongly to his body. She wanted to stay into his arms for eternity.

The song ended. They held each other for a moment. Nora lifted her head of his shoulder and he turned to look at her. Their eyes met. They were only inches apart. Bo brought his hand to her face and gently caressed it. Their eyes contact broke as another couple bumped against them. They pulled away of each other. Both feeling embarrassed. Not sure what to say or do. Bo cleared his throat and looked at his watch.

B: I think we got carried away for too long. We don’t have much time before he comes here.

It seemed like Nora was still caught in the moment before when they held each other. It was like his words brought her back to reality. She was disappointed that their moment ended. She shook her head.

N: Yeah, yeah, you’re right. So what do you have in mind?

She looked at her watch. It was 23:45 now. God, she didn’t even notice how the time passed so quickly while she was into his arms.

Bo looked around the club. And then back at Nora.

B: Maybe we can sniff around. He’s the manager so I guess he has an office somewhere.

N: I saw side door when we came in, maybe we can look around.

Bo smiled.

B: Let’s go.

They walked towards the entrance, looking around and making sure that no one could see them as they neared the side door. Bo leaned carefully against the door, eavesdropping, making sure that no one was there. Nora stood beside him. Impatiently waiting. He couldn’t hear noises behind the door. When he turned to look at Nora he heard footsteps coming towards them. He quickly grabbed Nora closer as he heard the footsteps nearing.

B: Kiss me.

Nora looked confusingly at him. She was taken aback by what he said. Her eyes widened.

N: What? What do you mea…

Before she could complete her sentence she felt his lips brushed on hers. She didn’t respond at first. Shock overcame her body. But the feeling of his lips on hers swept her off her feet. She wrapped her arms around his neck. Kissing him. The footsteps stopped. Bo could feel that someone was staring at them. He pulled back and looked at the woman beside them. Still in his arms, Nora looked confusingly at Bo and then at the woman.

WOMAN: Excuse me, can I help you? It’s a private area and no one is allowed to be here…

Bo smiled and kissed Nora’s cheek.

B: I’m sorry; I just wanted to be alone with my beautiful lady. I didn’t know it’s private area here…

The woman looked at Nora and smiled. Nora looked at Bo and smiled too.

W: Ok, but don’t stay long…

B: We won’t.

They smiled again and the woman left. He pulled back and looked at Nora.

B: I’m sorry about that… I just had to think fast.

Nora smiled gently. She was shocked when he kissed her but she was disappointed when he stopped.

N: That’s ok, really.

B: Good, I didn’t think that I could have scared you, I’m sorry.

She brought her hand to his face and looked into his eyes. Smiling.

N: Forget it, ok? We don’t have much time, ya know..

She hoped he couldn’t read the disappointment in her eyes. He didn’t kiss her because he wanted to. He kissed her because he needed to. God, why was it bothering her? It wasn’t like she was still in love with him. Bo smiled back at her. He hoped she didn’t feel how his heart was racing when they kissed. Why the hell did he want to hold her again? It wasn’t like he was still in love with her.

B: You’re right. Let’s go inside.

Bo opened the door carefully. They found his office. Nora felt weak again and Bo held her hand. They looked around the room.

B: Ok, let’s see if we can find something. Anything.
Each one of them went to other part of the room and started to look around. Nora looked in his drawers while Bo looked between the shelves. Bo pulled out a small box. He turned to look at Nora.

B: Look at this.

She turned to look at him and examined the box he held.

N: Cocaine?

Bo nodded. He put the box back at the place he found it. He would need a search warrant for that.

B: Have you found anything?

Nora picked her head up from the drawers.

N: No. Not yet.

When she search into the last drawer she froze.

N: Oh my God.. oh my God..

Bo went to Nora’s side. She was trembling. Tears began to roll down her face.

B: What is it, Nora? What did you find?

Bo looked at the drawer. He bit his bottom lip. He wrapped his arms around her when she leaned her head against his shoulder and cried.

To be continued....
