A CHARMED LIFE - PART 3

Later that afternoon, Bo summons up the courage to surprise Nora and Matthew with a pizza dinner at her house.

He rings the doorbell and Nora answers.

B: It was a buy one get one free New Year's Day special at Sal's. I hope you guys are hungry.

Nora is surprised. Bo was the last one she expected to see when she opened the door.

N: Well, this is a surprise. But a good one! Come in, come in. I haven't had a Sal's pizza in ages. I hope that it is as good as I remember.

B: Hasn't changed a bit.

N: Excellent.

The three of them sit down at the coffee table enjoying the pizza, along with root beer. Nora lights the same candle she used on New Year's Eve, however, there's not much left of it.

B: What's with the candle? There's not much too it. (He starts to laugh)

N: Don't laugh! It's the only one I could find and I used it last night.

B: Up until the wee small hours, huh?

N: Yes. I couldn't sleep.

B: I see.

Bo turns his attentions to Matthew.

B: Do you like the pizza, Matt?

M: Yes.

He's acting shy and quiet around Bo. Bo senses he is uncomfortable.

B: How about the root beer? It's your mom's favorite.

M: It's good. It's my favorite, too.

B: Well, you've got good taste.

M: Can I go now?

N (curious): You don't want anymore pizza?

M: No. Can I go?

N: Sure, honey. There's plenty more if you want it.

Matthew runs upstairs.

B: Sorry, Nora. Maybe I should go. It's obvious my being here bothers him.

N: Oh, don't be silly, Bo. He's just shy around strangers. After all, you two really don't know each other that well.

B: I guess so. I hope that's all it is.

N: Really? Why's that?

B: Um….I mean that I was serious about what I said earlier. If it makes you feel better to ask me questions about the past, we'll probably be spending a lot of time together.

N: Well, Bo, I kind of made myself a promise that I would forget the past and move forward.

B: Oh. No more questions for me then? Are we still friends?

N: Of course! But we'll have to pretend we're brand new friends.

B: That will be really hard for me. I mean the littlest thing can get me thinking…..of you.

N: Excuse me? Earth to Bo, there's a new girl in your life named Lamie, er Lanie.

B: I told you we're not together.

N: Does she know that?

B: I'm going to tell her. I can't be with her. It's just too much of a reminder of what Lindsay did to you and us. Besides, she's no fun.

N: So what are you saying?

B: I want you to trust me again. I want you to feel I'm here for you 100%.

N: You want me to run back into your arms, is that it? I don't think so.

B: No that's not what I meant. Unless of course, you want to.

N: Do you want me to? Wait a minute! I meant what I said about my past. It's over.

B: Yeah, but you said we are brand new friends so that means we start fresh.

N: This is way too confusing for me.

B: Why don't you think about it for a minute. Do you mind if I go talk with Matthew?

N: No go ahead.

B: Be back in a few minutes.

Bo heads upstairs to Matthew's room - he knocks.

B: Matt, it's Bo. Can I talk to you?

M: Okay.

B: Whatcha' doin'?

M: Coloring.
Matthew is coloring dogs, horses, cats…all pictures of animals.

B: Hey, you're pretty talented there, Matt.

M: Thanks. What do you want?

B: I just wanted to see if you were okay. You hardly ate any pizza. Your mother tells me you love pizza.

M: I'm okay.

B: Does it bug you that I'm here?

M: No.

B: Good, because I want us to be friends. You see, your mom and I were really close once. I'd like to get that back in my life and that would mean the three of us would be spending a lot more time together.

M: Are you going to be my new daddy?

B: Um….I don't know. It's a possibility - maybe some day.

M: Oh. Well, I guess you'll do. As long as mommy likes you.

Bo laughs.

B (smiling): Thanks, buddy! You can be sure I like your mommy. Friends?

Bo sticks out his hand to Matthew for a handshake. Matthew places his small hand in Bo's.

M: Friends.

B: Great! (He rubs Matthew on the head) I'll be leaving now. Hope I see you around real soon.

M: Bye.

Bo comes back downstairs.

B: He's a great kid, Nora.

N: Is everything all right?

B: I think things are gonna be just fine. How are you?
N: I still want to think about a lot of things.

B: Take your time. I think I'm gonna get going.

N: Take some pizza home with you.

B: No, you guys keep it. Besides, I know how you love cold pizza.

She smiles at him. "Why is he doing this to me?" she thinks to herself. Just last night she was cursing him out and suddenly real Bo is back and standing right in front of her being his old charming, sexy self.

N: Goodnight, Bo. Thank you for dinner.

B: Night, Nora.

He moves in to kiss her. What starts out as a peck turns slightly passionate. Nora pulls away.

N: Bo! What are you doing?

B: Uh…it's a New Year's kiss. You know, for good luck.

N: Oh. Well, I hope I get a ton of luck from that!

B (laughs): So do I. Besides, you had pizza sauce all over your mouth.

N: I did not!! (She laughs) Oh, well, now it's all over your mouth.

She pulls him back into a kiss.

N: Guess we're even. Bye…..

And she pushes him out the door. The next day Bo breaks up with Melanie. Melanie moves back to Cherryvale and starts a campaign to get Lindsay out of jail. Both sisters are never seen or heard from again.
