The Course of True Love Never Runs Smooth~Part 42   Chapter Forty Two:   Little Madison Renee, with her wisps of red hair and her father’s sparkling blue eyes, was the light of her parents lives. She was another expression of their love and she already had her daddy wrapped around her chubby little fingers.   Bo had reluctantly gone back to work a few days after Nora came home from the hospital. The attacks against the women of Llanview continue and once again none of the latest victims have any recollection of the attack. Bo has placed a guard outside of the house and he has someone following Renee just in case.   The station:   Bo is sitting behind his desk looking at a map of Llanview and the surrounding areas. They had marked where every attack occurred along with the victims name and description. He was looking for some sort of connection; other than the color of their hair. He ran his hands through his hair in frustration. He should be home with his wife and children; taking a much needed and well deserved break, but because of this psycho he’s been spending his days and nights at the station. He picked up the new picture off his desk and smiled. “At least I have them to come home to each night”, he thought as he looked at their smiling faces. He put the picture back down on his desk and was about to pick up the phone when it rang….   “Buchanan.”   “Hey, Buchanan, it’s the other Buchanan.”   A huge smile spreads across his face, “Well, hello there gorgeous. I was just getting ready to call you.”   “Hmmm…well I guess great minds think alike. So how is my overworked husband this evening?”   “Missing you like crazy.”   “Right back at ya. So do you think you’ll be able to come home before midnight tonight?”   “I think that can be arranged. Hopefully this maniac will take a night off. Did you have something special in mind?”   “Well as a matter of fact I do. It’s been over 10 weeks since Maddie was born…and well let’s just say I’ve missed you.”   Stands up and grabs his jacket, “Hold that thought, honey. I’ll be home in 10 minutes.”   Laughing, “I’ll be waiting.”   Bo tells Antonio that he’ll be at home for the rest of the night and to only call him if it’s an emergency. Bo jumps in his truck and is home in record time. He walks through the front door and stops in his tracks. There are candles all over the living room and a table for two sits off to the side. There is a bottle of sparkling cider chilling beside the table. He walks over to the table and sees a note on his plate. He smiles and picks it up; reading it out loud….   “A night you’ll never forget awaits you…you know where to find me…”   He quickly removes his jacket as he walks up the stairs, “How did I ever get so lucky”, he thinks to himself as he approaches their closed bedroom door.   He opens their bedroom door and begins to walk in feeling something crunch under his feet. He looks down and smiles at the rose petals lying all over their bedroom floor….There’s candles everywhere and a fire is blazing in the fireplace. He begins to remove his tie as she walks out of the bathroom; wearing a black sheer nightgown barely concealing her body from his eyes. They slowly walk towards each other. She turns on the CD player as she makes her way into his open arms….   Wise men say only fools rush in But I can’t help falling in love with you Shall I stay Would it be a sin If I can’t help falling in love with you   He pulled her body tight against his; resting his hand against her bare back; sending chills down her spine. She looked into his eyes and she couldn’t look away. Their eyes burned with passion and desire for each other. She began to unbutton his shirt as he kissed her neck….   Like a river flows surely to the sea Darling so it goes Some things are meant to be Take my hand; take my whole life too For I can’t help falling in love with you   She ran her hands over his chest as she slowly pushed his shirt down over his shoulders. She made quick work of his boxers; nothing keeping their skin from touching each other….   They slowly walked towards the bed neither one of them breaking contact with the other’s lips; their bodies still pressed against each other…They fell onto the bed together…..She broke their kiss for a moment and whispered in his ear as he kissed her neck….   “Make love to me”, she whispered…..   Across town….   He sits at his kitchen table and looks over the items laying there….an ultrasound picture; a wedding announcement; a birth announcement; four plane tickets; a syringe…..   He stood up and walked over to his bed; picking up a picture as he walked past the tables. He lies down on the bed and holds the picture in his hand; running his fingers over her face….   “We’ll be together soon my love…the four of us will be the family we were always meant to be…” TBC....
