The Cruise - Part 6

Last Time:
Bo and Nora share a show stopping dance and a kiss.
The Captain also gives Nora a goodnight kiss.
While standing alone on the deck of the ship, Nora is shocked to turn around and see Colin

*******

Nora: (Shocked) Colin!
Colin: (Big smile) Hi Scarlett (His hand slides from her shoulder down her arm, knocking the Captain's coat to the deck) I can't believe I finally have you alone.
Nora: (Not believing her eyes, she nervously looks around for anyone who might be close by) How...Um...What...
Colin: (Continuing to smile) Are you OK, Scarlett, you seem surprised.
Nora: (Trying desparately to gain control of her emotions. Taking a deep breath and trying to smile) Colin (Putting her hand up to her throat) I didn't expect to see you here. You just caught me off guard.
Colin: (Taking a step closer) Nora, I've been waiting for a chance to get you alone. I really think we need to talk about the last time we were together.
Nora: (Sarcastically laughing) Oh, You made your intentions perfectly clear, Colin. You were just interested in getting me into your bed.
Colin: (Looking hurt) No, Nora. After you left with Asa all I could see was the fear in your eyes. I don't want you to be afraid of me, I love you. I'll admit I was upset after our last date, but over these last couple of weeks, I have calmed and I realized what I needed to do.
Nora: (Rubbing her hand through her hair) Colin, please. You don't love me, you don't even know me. (Holding her hands up) You can't possibly believe that you got to know me while holding me hostage. That's ridiculous, Colin.
Colin: (Shaking his head) No, Scarlett. You don't remember, but ...
Nora: (Becoming very angry) You're right, I don't remember and why is that? Hmm?
Colin: (Taking Nora's hand and turning away) Come with me.
Nora: (Pulling her hand free) No! No, I'm tired of playing your game Colin--I give you what you want and you give me what I want. That's not how a friendship works and quite frankly it's not worth the price. I'll get Lindsey another way.
Colin: (Pleading) Please, Nora, it's not like that. I just need you to see something.
Nora: Why did you have to come on this cruise to show me what you have, you have had plenty of time to show me whatever it was.
Colin: (Looking frustrated) I tried several times. I called your office, You were just working so much, the opportunity never presented itself. Then this cruise presented Itself (Smiling) and, now here we are. (Smiling more broadly) (Nora looking skeptical) Well, a gift this important should be given in a special place (Waving his hands around him and smiling) Where better than here on this ship.
Nora: (Holding out her had) OK, Colin, then let's see this "gift."
Colin: (Again taking Nora's hand) Please, Scarlett. This was really the only way I could guarantee that we would be alone--No Asa, No Sam and certainly No Bo. Just you and I.
Nora realized that Colin was not aware that Bo was on the ship, again she started looking around nervously. Oh Bo, where are you, she thought. (Still holding her hand out waiting for the gift).
Colin: (Taking her hand and pleading) Really Nora, this is the only way for all this to finally end. We both need to get on with our lives.

Resolving herself to finally bring this to a close, she stepped away from the rail and followed Colin toward the doors leading to the cabins.

Bo returned to his cabin but couldn't rest. Everytime he closed his eyes he saw Nora. Nora in that amazing gown. Nora dancing with the Captain. Nora dancing with him so close he could feel her heart beat. Nora standing confused after their kiss and then Nora with tears in her eyes. He raises off the pillow and slams his fist into it trying to reshape it. He laid his head down again, placing his arm over his eyes. Why did I walk away again. What an idiot! Bo, you have to stop walking away from the only woman you ever loved. (Quietly) Oh, Nora, I love you so much. Turning over in bed still frustrated, Why do I keep letting her down. Realizing he would never get any sleep he sat up in bed, slipped on his pants and a T-shirt and left his cabin. He decided he was going to talk this out and try to get past their hurt feelings. He walked out onto the stern's deck to find it empty. As he was turning to head to Nora's cabin, something lying on the deck caught his eye. He walked over to where Nora was last standing and reached down for the dark item. It was the Captain's coat. He picked it up and held it to his face, he could smell Nora's perfume. Why would she leave this out here, he wondered. A bad feeling started creeping up his spine.

Nora realized where Colin was heading, his cabin!

Nora: (Stopping in the hallway) Colin, where are we going?
Colin: (Stepping very close to Nora, speaking quietly) Trust me.
He again started walking down the hall with her hand in his. When they reached Colin's cabin, he unlocked the door and pushed it open, standing in the hall waiting for Nora to enter.
Nora: (Looking around the hallway nervously) Colin, I ...
Colin: (Pleadingly) Please, Nora, just for a minute.
Nora walked through the doorway and Colin followed closing the door behind him. The room was smaller than Nora's but still roomy enough to have a small desk, sofa, and bed. He motioned for Nora to sit on the sofa, but she continued to stand, not venturing too far from the door.
Colin: Would you like something to drink, Scarlett
Nora: (Shaking her head) No, thank you, Colin. What did you want to show me.
Colin walking over to the desk that he converted to a bar and pouring himself a drink. (Holding the glass up) Are you sure?
Nora: (Shaking her head again) No, Colin. (Getting frustrated) OK, Colin. I'm out of here, enough of these games.
Colin: (Moving in front of the door) Please, Scarlett, just a minute. I want to show you something (He walked over to the desk and opened a drawer. He reached inside and pulled out a long slender box. It looked like the type of box that a bracelet might come in.
Nora thought Colin was about to give her another piece of jewelry.
Nora: (Aggitated) No, Colin! (Holding up her hand) No more jewelry! I want the truth!
Colin: (Smiling and walking closer to Nora, reaching the box to Nora. She refused to take it) OK, then, allow me. (He opened the box and showed the contents to Nora)
Nora just looked into the box with a puzzled expression on her face. She then looked up at Colin who had a huge grin on his face.
Nora: (Questioning) A syringe?
Colin: (Smiling proudly) Yep!
Nora: (Not believing what she was looking at) You're giving me a syringe? (Shaking from anger) What the he!! is this Colin, a sick joke?
Colin: (Smile fading. He realized that Nora didn't understand) No, Nora! It's "THE" syringe.
Nora still not understanding, went to reach out and touch it.
Colin: (Pulling it back) No! Don't touch it! (Nora looked puzzled) It has fingerprints on it (Smiling)
Nora finally started to understand and a smile began creeping across her lips.
Nora: (Looking bright eyed at Colin) Oh, Colin! This is actually "THE" syringe (He shook his head) "THE" SYRINGE! (She almost started giggling)
Colin: I'm sure you can guess whose fingerprints are on this syringe. I'm also sure that an examiner will find residue of the drug used to erase your memory. (He placed the top back on the box and handed it to Nora with a smile).
Nora: (Reaching out slowly as a child might when they think something might be grabbed away suddenly) Her hands touched the box and Colin briefly caressed them.

Her smile was unbelievable. Things could have been so different, if only...
Nora: (Speaking softly with tears in her eyes) Colin, I don't know what to say. (Reaching up to wipe a tear away and looking up to the ceiling) I can't believe this is finally over.
Colin: (Stepping close to Nora and caressing her face with his hand) I can never tell you how sorry I am this happened to you, and I realize that this doesn't mean much to you, but I do love you.
Nora: (No longer worried about Colin's intent) Colin, I don't know what to say. I have so many feelings I need to work through.
Colin: (Reluctantly stepping away) I understand, at the very least I would like for us to be friends?
Nora: (Smiling and briefly hugging him) I'd like that too. (Holding up the box) This is a good start. (She hugged the box to her heart)
There was a knock at Colin's door that startled them both.
Colin walked over and opened the door.
Woman: Colin, come on honey, let's go for a swim.
Nora smiled. Colin looked embarrassed.
Nora: (Stepping past Colin and the Woman) I was just leaving. (Leaning in and giving Colin a kiss on the cheek) Thank You.
Nora turned and walked away. Colin just stared at her back as she walked away; with his hand touching his cheek where Nora kissed him.)
Woman: (Hitting Colin) Hey! Let's go.
