The Cruise - Part 8
Last Time:
Bo threatened Colin that if he hurt Nora he would kill him.
Bo finally found Nora in her cabin and just as they were about
to get close, Captain Stamos interrupted.
*******
Nora: (Looking at the Captain standing in her doorway) Captain, you look worried? Um... (Motioning for him to come in) Won't you join the party.
Bo walks near Nora's bed and rubs his hand on the bedspread, absentmindedly straightening the covers.
Captain: (Obviously uncomfortable) Um... Nora? (Trying to
smile but failing miserably) I didn't realize that your husband
had already found you.
Nora: (Glancing back at Bo who now possessed a slight smile on
his lips and then looking back at the Captain) My Husband? (Looking
at Bo again who was now making himself comfortable at the end
of her bed) Husband?
Bo was trying to look innocent and shrugging his shoulders as
if he didn't understand why the Captain would think that.
Nora: (Looking back at the Captain and again inviting him
into her room) He is my EX-husband, Captain. Please come in (pulling
her robe tight) Let me introduce you two, Captain John Stamos
may I introduce Bo Buchanan. (They briefly shake hands.)
Captain: (Quickly glaring at Bo, knowing he misled him on purpose)
Oh, I thought... Well, that doesn't matter now. I'm glad you're
OK.
Bo: (Smiling and looking at him) She's great. No need to worry,
she's well taken care of.
Nora: (Hands on hips) Excuse me (looking at Bo) I don't need to
be taken care of. (Walking over to him on her bed and pulling
him up) I think it's time for this party to come to an end. It's
been a long evening.
Bo: (Pouting) Nora, I think we need to talk.
Nora: (Patting Bo on the arm as she walks him to the door) Yes,
we do, but not tonight. (She opens her cabin door and Bo walks
out. Looking at him very sweetly) Goodnight, Bo.
The door closes before Bo can ask about the Captain. He
continues to stand in the hallway.
Nora: (Turning to face the Captain) I apologize if he (pointing
over her shoulder at the door) misled you, Captain.
Captain: (Stepping near Nora and taking her hand) Please, Nora,
call me John (She smiles) I'm just glad you're OK. Your EX-husband
was very worried about you safety this evening. I do believe he
would have taken this ship apart piece-by-piece until he found
you. (Nora glancing back at the door and smiling)
Nora: (Smiling larger than she intended) He's a very passionate
man. (Realizing what she just said before she thought, she became
very uncomfortable) Um... Captain, if ...
Captain: (Stepping to take Nora's hand again) John, please
Nora: (Flashing a tired smile) John, if you don't mind, it really
has been a long evening.
Captain: (Walking to the door) I understand (Briefly nodding he
opened the door and Nora followed to show him out) Pleasant dreams,
Nora.
Nora: (Holding the door) You too, John. Good night.
Captain: Good night.
Bo is still waiting in the hall becoming slightly impatient
waiting for the Captain to leave. When he hears the door open
he quickly steps around the corner.
Bo: (Sarcastically mimicing the Captain) Pleasant dreams... (Smiling
to himself) Oh, she'll have pleasant dreams alright.
The Captain walks quickly down the hall, never noticing
Bo standing around the corner. When the Captain has left the hallway,
Bo heads back to Nora's room. Nora has just started taking her
robe off when there was another knock at the door.
Nora: (Looking unbelievably at the door) Good grief, what is this
Grand Central Station. (She walks and opens the door)
Before Nora can even look up, she is backed-up against the
open door by a pair of forceful hands on her arms. Her robe falls
open and warm lips are on hers in an instant. Caught totally off
guard, she initially starts to struggle, but the familiar feel
of the kiss causes her to relax. The kiss continues for several
more seconds and she is responding with as much passion as Bo.
Eventually she moves her head to the side and whispers "Bo."
His lips have moved to her ear and down her neck and he has pulled
her inside the room and now has her up against the closed door.
Nora: (Breathlessly) Bo...Bo.. please stop.
Bo's hands have slid inside Nora's robe and are reaching up behind
her, just under her T-shirt. Her skin feels so soft and warm.
Oh, how he has missed the feel of her. He presses her body up
against his and she can feel how aroused he is.
Bo: (Quietly pleading) I need you. I need to be with you.
Nora desperately wanted to pull him to the bed. She realized that
there were too many issues to work through before they could be
together. With all of her will power she slowly pushed him away,
the desire present in both their eyes.
Nora: Bo, please we need to talk before we take this step.
Bo: (Taking a deep breath, trying to gain control of his senses)
Nora, you said earlier how unbelievable it was that we were on
the outside of each other's lives, looking in. I want to change
this and get our lives back together.
Nora: (Trying to move away, but Bo won't let go) Bo... (tears
beginning to well up in her eyes) so many things have happened
and I don't even remember the last 2 years. We each obviously
moved in different directions and I don't even remember why. (Needing
to pace and put some distance between herself and Bo) Bo (looking
at his arms), please let go.
Bo: (Reluctantly letting go) Red, I don't ever want to let
go of you again. I want to try to talk through all of our insecurities.
(laughing nervously) Isn't that ironic?
Nora: (Turning to look at him) What?
Bo: (Looking sad) That now, after walking away from you, I would
want to talk (Scratching his head) I'm such a fool! I let my pride
rob me of the most wonderful woman I have ever known. I don't
know if you can ever forgive me for not fighting . . .
Nora holds up her hand, silently pleading with him to stop.
Nora: (Tears now freely falling down her face) I can't do this
now Bo. Not here, not now.
Bo is visibly upset at how hurt Nora is. He realizes that all
the pain she is now feeling is because of him.
Bo: (Walking up to her and holding her on either side of her face,
wiping the tears away with his thumbs) I'm a fool, I admit it.
I'm going to spend the rest of my life proving to you how much
I love you. I think we should try to start all over, not pick-up
where we left off.
Nora: (Emotionally exhausted) Bo, I don't know where to start.
Bo pulls her head to his and kisses her passionately.
Bo: (Letting go of her and turning to the door) I'll see you around
Ms. Gannon. (He opens the door, looks around at her with a large
smile and walks out, closing the door behind him.)
Nora is just standing there staring at the closed door.
To be continued . . .
