The Dance (Part 1)

For some reason, Bo couldn’t shake this odd feeling that he had. He wasn’t sure what it was, but he hadn’t been the same since the accident.

Bo went to Cherryvale to see John Sykes.

Bo: ”John? Hey, this is Bo, how are you feeling?”

John: “Bo? I’ve been better, but I’m doing fine.”

Bo: “I know how that is, I’ve been a whole hell of a lot better before.”

(John hadn’t heard that Nora died.)

John: “Bo, Did everyone get off the train?”

Bo: (eyes filling up with tears) ”No, I’m afraid not John.”

John: “Bo, what is it? What’s wrong?”

Bo: “Well John, Nora was still on the train when it exploded. Now I just found out that her son, Matthew, is really my son. Lindsay had the DNA test changed. I have a son with Nora, and now she’s gone, and she’ll never know.”

John: “What? No, not Nora! Bo, I’m so sorry. I know how much you loved her.”

(Melanie walked in, didn’t see Bo, and he didn’t see her.)

Bo: “Yeah, I loved her, so much. I wish that I could just tell her. You don’t know much I wish I could just hold her in my arms again. If I had the chance I’d never let go.

Melanie: “Excuse me, I don’t mean to interrupt, (looks at Bo) It’s you!

John: “Doctor, this is the Commissioner, Bo Buchanan.

Melanie: “Nice to meet you, I’m Melanie McIver. Thanks for saving my friends life; he told me that you made someone apply pressure to his wound.”

Bo: “Oh, so you’re a doctor?”

Nora was with Colin, her doctor, and the physical therapist. She still had burns on her face, and couldn’t talk, because her throat was burned. She couldn’t walk or write either. Melanie was her surgeon; she had done some surgery to repair her face, from the burns. She was so sweet, and caring towards her. No one knew her name, so Melanie suggested that they call her Red, because of her red hair. The first time she was called that, tears filled Nora’s eyes. She thought of how Bo called her that. Therapy was hard, but she was determined to walk again.

Melanie checked John out, and suggested that he get some rest.

Bo: “Yeah, John, I’ll be back to see you soon. Get some rest.”

John: (feeling tired) ”Ok Bo, again I’m extremely sorry about Nora.”

Bo: “Yeah, I miss her so much.”

Bo and Melanie leave.

Melanie: “Nora?”

Bo: “Yeah, she was my wife, she was on the train, I tried to get her off, but when I got help to her, it was too late. It exploded.”

Melanie: “I’m so sorry, I didn’t know that you were married.”

Bo: “Well, I’m not, and I wasn’t then. There was something that came up, and we broke up. But I never stopped
loving her, and that night, on the train. She asked me to forgive her, and I didn’t. I wanted to, but then it was too late, she as gone.”

Melanie: “Well, I know that it’s never easy to lose someone that you love ever; but you can’t let the guilt get to you. If you do, you can’t heal, or live normally, or happy.”

Bo: “I can’t be happy without Nora.”

Intercom: “Dr. McIver, Please come to the PT Gym.”

Melanie: “Well that’s me I’ve got to go.”

Bo: I’ll walk you over there.

Melanie: “Ok, we’re here. Listen Bo, if you ever need someone to talk to I’m right here.

Bo: “Thank you. Bye”

Bo leaves, and Melanie goes into the gym

Melanie: “Hello Red, how are you feeling today?

Colin: “Red has learned something new today, would you like to show Melanie?

Nora shook her head yes. Then she stood up. By herself, with out any assistance.

Melanie: “Red, I’m so happy! This is the first step into walking again, and dancing, do you like to dance?

Nora slowly nodded her head yes, as she sat back down, and started to cry.

Melanie: “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you cry.”
