The Dance Part 2
A few weeks later…
Today was Nora’s birthday, Rachel called Bo and asked if she and Matthew could come over, and spend some of the day with him. Bo gladly let Rachel and Matthew come over. Rachel and Bo talked about Nora, and Bo was really glad to spend some time with Rachel and Matthew, he still couldn’t believe that he was Matthew’s father. Nora would have been so happy to see Bo and Matthew, that’s all she ever wanted, was for him to have a son. Rachel took Matthew home because it was time for his nap. Bo didn’t feel like being alone, at all, so he decided to call Melanie, she did tell him that he would listen to him. He couldn’t talk to anyone else, Clint was still in London, and he just couldn’t talk to Hank.
Nora was having her daily therapy her arms weren’t broken anymore, but her fingers were, and she still wasn’t able to talk. Melanie was in her office, when Bo called, she told him that it was all right for him to talk to her.
Bo: “Hi.”
Melanie: “Hello, are you alright? You don’t look to good.”
Bo: “No, I’m not alright. Today is Nora’s birthday. I spent all day with her two kids. Rachel is great, I love her like she’s my own daughter and Matthew, that baby, is my son, he is also the reason that we broke up, but he is just the greatest baby. Today as soon as he and Rachel came over he just ran over to me, and gave me the biggest hug. I just sat there, and felt Nora, through that little boy. I felt her.
Melanie: “I know how it feels to lose someone that you love, and I know that it’s hard to say goodbye, and especially on days like today. It can be hard, but you have to get past the pain, I’m sensing that there was unfinished business between you and Nora, am I correct?”
Bo: “Yes, she asked me to forgive her for what happened to end our marriage, and I didn’t.”
Nora was taking a few steps, not much, but she was learning to walk again. Still no one knew who she was. She was going back to her room from therapy, as Bo and Melanie were coming out of her office. Melanie could tell that Bo needed a hug, so she gave him one. Nora saw Bo and her heart skipped a beat. She thought to herself that he looked sad, lost, different, and she noticed that he was crying. Bo turned and looked, he saw Nora.
Bo: “Nora? Is that you Red?”
Nora shook her head yes and smiled at Bo.
Colin: “So your name is Nora?”
Bo went running up to her. He wrapped his arms around her, and held her so tight. “Nora, oh, I thought that I’d never get to hold you again, and now I’m never going to let go.
Nora tried to talk, but nothing would come out. She was thinking. “Bo, I love you, I don’t want you to stop I want you to hold me forever.”
Bo pushed her into her room, and helped her into bed. He then called Rachel. “Rachel, listen I need you to come up to the Cherryvale Clinic and bring Matthew with you. It’s important. Ok see you soon. Bye.”
Nora looked at him with a confused look on her face.
Bo: “Nora, I know what you must be thinking, why is Rachel in Llanview right?”
Nora nodded her head.
Bo: “Well, Hank called her right after the train accident, do you remember the accident?”
Nora again nodded her head.
Bo: “Ok, well when I saw that train car exploded, I didn’t know what happened to you, I tried to get help to you, but when I got back the car was filled up with smoke, and then it exploded. How did you get out of there?”
(Colin and Melanie walked in the room)
Colin: “Hi, I’m Dr. Colin McIver, I see that you have met my wife Melanie. I’m Nora’s doctor, and Melanie has done surgery on her to repair her from the burns.”
Bo: “Do you know how she got out of the train?”
Colin: “Yes, I was going through the cars looking for survivors, and I found her, she was pinned down, but before the car exploded, it shifted slightly, and I was able to get her out.”
Bo: “Thank you so much! I don’t know how I could ever thank you. You got Nora out alive. Thank you.”
Colin: “You’re welcome, now, I’d like to know who are you?”
Bo: “Well, I’m Nora’s ex-husband. Can I please spend some time with her? I really need to talk to her.”
Colin: “That would be fine, just don’t stay to long, she needs her rest.”
Bo: “Sure thing. Hi Red, (he leaned over and brushed her hair out of her face, and softly kissed her forehead.) I love you so much.”
Nora just looked at him, and smiled, then she started crying.
Bo: “Hey, honey, don’t cry, it’s ok, I’m here now, and I’m not going anywhere ok. Listen I have something I want to say to you.” (He turned around, and started pacing.) “I have been thinking nothing other than this since the accident. I am sorry, for not forgiving you when you asked me to. After you went on that other car, I went and sat down next to Jess. She started talking to me about how it was so hard for her to forgive Will, But when he realized that he was going to prison, and she might never see him again. When she was talking, I couldn’t stop thinking of you Red, I got up, to go into that other car to talk to you, when the accident happened. Then I thought I got the chance to ever tell you, that I do forgive you. At your memorial service, I told everyone, all of your friends, and family that I did forgive you, and that I will always love you, and I meant every word of it.”
Nora tried to talk: “Bo” came out very low and scratchy.
Bo (smiled): “You can talk?”
Nora: “Very little.”
Bo: “What is it Red?”
Nora: “You thought I was dead?”
Bo: “Yes, the car exploded and the fire chief told me that no one was able to get out of the car alive. I didn’t want to believe it, but I had no other proof, so I had to.”
Rachel came with Matthew, and walked
up to the nurses’ station, “Excuse me, do you know where
I can find Bo
Buchanan at?”
Bo heard Rachel’s voice, “I’ll be right back Red, I have a pleasant surprise for you.” Bo walked out into the hallway. “Rachel.”
Rachel turned around, and Matthew saw Bo, he was reaching out for Bo to hold him. “Bo, what is it? Why did you want me to come here?”
Bo picked up Matthew, and Matthew gave Bo a kiss. “Rachel, listen, your not going to believe this, your mom is alive.”
Rachel: “What? She’s alive? Where is she? How long have you known, why didn’t you tell me?”
Bo: “Calm down, Rach, I just found out this afternoon. I came up here to see a friend, and I saw her. I didn’t believe it at first myself, but it’s her.”
Rachel: “Where is she? I want to see her.”
Bo: “Ok, follow me, she’s right down here.”
Rachel followed Bo and Matthew into Nora’s room.
Bo (who was holding Matthew): “Hey, Red, look who wanted to see his mom.”
Nora perked up, and reached out for Matthew, but he had fallen asleep in Bo’s arms.
Rachel: “Hi Mom! Oh mom! I love you so much.”
Nora looked so happy; she gave Rachel a kiss. She then looked over at Bo who still was holding Matthew. Her heart melted, at the sight of Bo and Matthew, she got sad, because she knows that she wanted Bo to be Matthew’s father.
Bo: “Nora, there is something that I think that you need to know.”
Nora started to look concern.
Bo: “It’s nothing to be
concerned about Red, It’d good news, great news if you ask
me.” Nora started to relax.
“Lindsay is in Statesville now.” Nora looked shocked.
“The reason she’s in prison, is for changing medical
documents, and for bribery. You know that she changed my test,
that made you think that I wasn’t able to father children,
but she also bribed the lab Tech to change Matthew’s DNA
test.” Nora looked at him, as to say, what? Bo continued,
“I had another test done, and Nora he’s our son.
Nora: “What? He’s our son?”
Bo: “Yeah, he’s mine and yours. He’s our son.”
Nora reached out to hold him; she took Matthew in her arms and kissed him. She just looked at him, and looked back at Bo. Then tears filled her eyes. Matthew woke up, and saw his mother.
Matthew: “Mommy! Mommy!”
Nora gave her son the biggest hug;
then Matt turned to Bo and said “dada”
Bo looked at him, then at Nora, then at Rachel, “He just
called me dada!” and a smile came upon his face. “He
called me dada.”
The intercom came on: “Attention everyone: Visiting hours are over, please. Visiting hours are from 8:00 am to 8:00 p.m. Thank you.”
Bo: “Sorry Red, we have to go, but we will be back as soon as they let us in. I promise.”
Rachel: “Mom, I love you, and I’m so glad that you’re here.”
Nora gave Matthew to Rachel.
Bo said: “Rachel, I’ll be there in a second, I’d like to talk to your mom alone please.”
Rachel: “Ok, Come on little brother, let’s go see the water, do you want to go see the wishing well?”
BO: “Nora, I just wanted to tell you how much I love you.” He was leaning down, and she pulled him close to her and kissed him. “Whoa, what was that for?” She said, “I love you too.” Bo smiled at her, that I love you more than life itself smile, “I’ll see you tomorrow, get some rest."
Bo goes to Rachel, and he had this huge smile on his face, she said, “Bo, I can’t believe that she’s been here all this time. Bo said, “Neither can I Rach, neither can I.”
When Bo got home, he called Viki and Ben up, “Viki, this is Bo, I’m sorry, I know that it’s late, but I need to talk to you, can I come over?”
A few minutes later, Bo was at Llanfair. “Viki, How are you?”
Viki asked Bo: ”Bo, are you alright? You are acting a little odd.”
Bo smiled, “I’m doing great, better than ever. Is Ben and Jessica here, what about Kevin and Joey?”
Viki: “Yes, Ben, and Jessica are upstairs, Kevin, Joey and Kelly are at the carriage house? Bo what is it?”
Bo: “Viki, It’s not bad news, it’s great news, tell them to come over, I want to tell everyone together.”
Joey, Kelly, Kevin, Ben, Jessica, and Christian are all at the house.
Jessica: ”Ok, Uncle Bo, what is it? Why do you have all of us here?”
Joey: “Yeah Bo, what’s going on?”
Bo: “Ok, Kevin and Kelly get your paper ready I have an announcement that I want put in both the Sun, and the Banner. Today I was at the Cherryvale Clinic, talking to a friend when this happened. I saw Nora she’s alive. She’s at the Cherryvale Clinic.”
Viki: “What? Are you sure?”
Bo: “Yes, I didn’t believe it at first, but it’s her. She was rescued from the train seconds before it exploded. She arms were broken, and her voice was gone, because of smoke inhalation, so they couldn’t talk, or tell anyone who she is.”
Ben: “Who’s her doctor? I know a few people over at Cherryvale.”
Bo: “Her doctor is Colin McIver, and his wife Melanie has done some surgery on her, for the burns.”
Jessica looked at Bo: “Melanie is her doctor?”
Bo: “Yes, why do you know her?”
Jessica: ”Uh, yeah, Uncle Bo, she is Will’s aunt.”
Bo: “Will’s aunt? How?”
Cris: “Uh, sir, she is Lindsay’s sister.”
Bo: “She is? I didn’t know that she had a sister. (Bo thought, gross, I slept with Lindsay, and her sister. Boy that’s bad)
Ben: “While everyone is here, I have an announcement to make too. Viki and I are going to get married in 2 months on August 11.”
Joey and Kelly: “Wow, you’re getting married, and Nora’s alive! This is a great day, can it get any better?”
Bo: “And you should have seen the look on Nora’s face when I told her that I was Matthew’s father.”
Kevin: “Bo, I’m really glad for you, let me ask you a question. Why didn’t anyone at the hospital try to identify Nora? Is her face burned badly that she’s unrecognizable?”
Bo: “Colin said that he faxed a picture of Nora to the station, and got no response back.”
Kelly: “So, someone at the Llanview PD saw Nora’s picture and through it away?”
Bo: “I’m not sure, but I’m going to talk to the person who was working that night, to see if they know what happened to it. Ben, Viki, congratulations, I will defiantly be there to see you become my sister-in-law again. But, I need to go back and tuck Matthew in bed, and give him a big kiss from his mom.”
