Dr. Rae's Replacement   Better late than never. Here is my FF to help celebrate the Bo and Nora day. It is a short one, but hopefully it will capture the essence of the real Bo and Nora.   Nora finally had sex (noticed I did not say make love) with Troy. She listened to Dr. Rae about getting past seeing Colin when she looked at Troy, and decided to move on.   Only the advice Dr. Rae had given her and her time with Troy was not as fulfilling as Nora thought it would be or should be. Troy was nice, but there was something about him that didn't "Wow" Nora. She hated to admit it, but he, like Sam, was not Bo. She was so frustrated. She had not talked to Bo in ages, but knew a little bit about him asking Gabrielle to move in with him. She felt that she had lost him forever. He didn't seem interested in her any more, and had seemed to move on with his life. A new life with yet another deceiving, coniving woman. How could he not forgive her, but yet let these women prey on him? She realized that she only felt gratitude to Troy for helping Matthew, and that it was only a physical attraction toward Troy that she thought would fill the void she was missing in her life. With all that said, she thought to herself ... Who can I turn to? She was very disappointed with Dr. Rae's advice. At that point she called her sister, Susannah, whom she had not talked to in a very long time. Susannah was a great psychiatrist, and Nora really needed that along with a sister to share things with right now. Susannah was considering a job offer at Llanview Hospital as Rae Cummings was going back to Port Charles to General Hospital.   Susannah was in Chicago visiting her parents when Nora called her. She offered to fly to Llanview and stay with Nora and Matthew for a few days. It would also allow Susannah to meet with Larry Wolek regarding the opening. Nora readily agreed to her coming.   Susannah knew Nora well. She also knew that her sister still loved only one man and that man was Bo. Nora was playing the part of a hurt lover "to the tee". She went from one man to another, but none could fill the void of her true love (Bo). From what Susannah gathered from talking to other people in Llanview, Bo wasn't doing much better about moving on. He was reaching out for all the wrong women and for all the wrong reasons. He was as much of a mess as Nora. How could she get these two to realize their true feelings for each other? Most importantly how could she get them to admit their feelings to each other. They were both strong, independent people (although as of late they both sure didn't show it!!). They still were both pigheaded about admitting their true feelings for each other.   Susannah thought long and hard on her trip to Llanview how she could get Bo and Nora in the same room without knowing it. She knew talking to Nora alone would be good, but Nora wouldn't go to Bo readily without some intervention from her sister. She had a plan, but was going to need some help from Dr. Wolek at Llanview Hospital.   When Susannah arrived at Nora's house, Nora and Matthew greeted her with open arms. Susannah couldn't believe how big Matthew was. She was so happy to be with her sister and nephew. Nora and Susannah stayed up almost all night catching up and talking about Nora's feelings. Nora never admitted to Susannah about still loving Bo even though Susannah pressed the issue. Susannah, however, could tell from her sister that Bo was still her true love. She decided to put her plan into action.   Susannah asked Nora if she could meet her for lunch at Llanview Hospital around 1:00 in Larry Wolek's office as Susannah was going to meet with Larry regarding the position she was considering to replace Dr. Rae. Nora thought that sounded great. Matthew was in school and Mary Ann could pick him up after school.   Now the hard part was to get Bo to meet them at the hospital at the same time. This took a little more effort, but through Dr. Wolek's help, Susannah was able to have him call Bo. Larry told Bo he needed to talk about Asa's condition with Bo. Larry always wanted Bo and Nora back together, and would do anything to help two of his favorite people. Larry asked Bo to meet him in his office at 1:00.   The meeting was set. Susannah did go to Llanview Hospital and did meet with Larry Wolek as planned earlier in the day. Susannah did accept Larry's job offer and was happy to again be in Llanview. However, it was nearing 1:00 and they both got nervous how this "meeting" was going to go.   Nora arrived first. She knocked at the door and Larry Wolek answered. She was not surprised to see him as she knew Susannah was interviewing. Susannah told Nora of her acceptance of the job and how she was now going to live in Llanview with her sister and nephew. Nora was so excited!!! She finally had some of her family back with her.   While they were discussing some family issues, Larry stepped out of the office and encountered Bo. Bo was worried about Asa and Larry asked Bo to step in his office so they could talk. As Bo and Larry entered his office, Nora and Susannah were standing there. Bo and Nora were very surprised to see each other. However, the explanation was very simple as Larry had asked Bo to come and see him and they all told Bo of Susannah's acceptance of her new job to replace Dr. Rae at Llanview Hospital.   Bo thought that was terrific. He always liked Nora' sister. Bo was also very happy to see Nora and likewise. They had not seen in each other in a very long time nor had much interaction of any kind in the last year. Now the hard part. How to get them to sit down and have a "session" with Susannah without really having a "session".   Larry started by telling Bo that he asked him down here not only to talk about Asa but also that he was very concerned about Bo. He told Bo he asked Susannah to talk to Bo and Nora about their lives and how they were both doing. Larry laid it on the line and told them both he thought they were both not doing very well and was concerned not only about their welfare but about how it was affecting their health. He asked them both if they would have a seat and if they could have a discussion with Susannah (and himself if they wanted).   At first both Bo and Nora were very reluctant. They both knew they had been "set up". However, both of them were not very happy with their lives and were actually very grateful for the concern of their friends and relatives.   The discussion went on for a very long time about their relationships with other people and eventually how they broke up. It got heated at times. It was very emotional. Susannah finally broke in and said to Bo and Nora .... bottom line you two ..... do you love each other? I know you do. Larry Wolek chimed in ... I know you do. Everyone in Llanview knows you do!!! You two are just too pigheaded to admit it to each other. Look at each other. Right now, look at each other.   Bo and Nora turned and looked at each other. They both had tears in their eyes. Susannah was still pressing. "I dare you to tell each other that you don't love each other... go ahead .... look into each other's eyes and say you don't love Nora, Bo .... Nora, look into Bo's eyes and say you don't love him.. That is the way the two of you have been acting, but I don't believe it for a minute." The room was silent. Bo held his hand out to Nora's. Nora hesitated by grabbed Bo's hand. It felt so good!!! They both started crying.   Nora: Bo, I do love you. I have always loved you with all my heart and soul. I have never stopped loving you. I could never fill the void you left in my heart when you left me and couldn't forgive me.   Bo: Nora, I love you so much. I have been such a jerk!!! I have forgiven so many women who didn't deserve the forgiveness as much as you did. Can you ever forgive me? I have tried to avoid you because I thought I could get you out of my heart by replacing you. It just never worked. I never had the same happiness, smile, or love with anyone else. I really miss that!!! I love you, Red, with all my heart, soul, and mind. No one could ever fill the void in my heart when you were gone because I couldn't forgive you about Matthew.   Larry and Susannah: We really miss seeing the two of you happy!!! It breaks our hearts.   Bo (to Nora): Do you think we have a chance, Red?   Nora (to Bo): Do you think we have a chance, Bo?   Bo and Nora: (Pausing and looking down at the floor; then looking up at each other) YES!!!! Tears were streaming from everyone's eyes. There was not a dry eye in the room.   Larry and Susannah got up and told Bo and Nora that they would leave them alone to talk. If they needed anything, they would be outside. Bo told Larry and Susannah to have a nice lunch on him. Nora nodded in total agreement.   Larry (kiddingly): Be nice to my office, though! Remember I do have patients later this afternoon.   They all laughed.   Susannah: You are sure you both are okay?   Bo and Nora: We will talk and work things out. It is going to take awhile, but this is a great start. Thank you both so much!!!   Larry and Susannah: You are welcome!!!! See you later!!   Bo and Nora just sat and looked at each other. It was the most wonderful feeling in the world. They felt so at peace with the world. Here they were. It had been so long, but yet it seemed like they never left each other. They both got up and embraced each other. They could feel each other's hearts beating together in unison. They pulled apart slightly and Bo just looked at Nora with those beautiful eyes. He started carressing her face and Nora responded accordingly. He then looked at her again and starting kissing her lips gently and then they started kissing passionately. It was absolutely wonderful!!!   Bo: (to Nora) Is this too fast or too soon for you? I don't want to lose you ever again Red!   Nora: (kind of giggling) Definitely not too fast and definitely not too soon!!!   They both laughed.   Nora: (to Bo -- giggling) How long does a nice lunch take?   Bo: Nora Buchanan. What do you have in mind in Dr. Wolek's office? We just met!!! Do you think I am that easy?   Nora: I sure hope so!! Don't you know, Bo? This is a doctor's office. It is normal to take off your clothes (laughing more vigorously).   Bo: You are unbelievable Nora Buchanan!!! You are my Red!!!   They both laughed. Bo locked Larry's door. In typical (back to normal) Bo and Nora fashion, they made love in the good doctor's office until they were interrupted by the knock on the door. It was Larry and Susannah.   Bo and Nora: Oops. Back so soon? We will be right there.   Larry and Susannah were standing outside the door just laughing. "I guess we were successful!!!"   Larry (to Susannah): Welcome to the staff of Llanview Hospital. Good work on your first case!!! I hope they all turn out as great as this!   Bo and Nora opened the door with great big smiles on their faces.   Bo and Nora: (to Larry and Susannah) Thank you so much for all your professional help!! We hope you had a good lunch.   Susannah: And your "discussion"? I assume it went well (smiling). Larry: Is my office still intact (laughing)?   Bo: Everything is just like you left it.   Bo and Nora both giggling, holding hands, and totally content with each other and the world.   The End
