Christas Future...............Part III

Last Time...

Matthew(tugs on Rachels dress): “Rachel guess what!”
Rachel bent over to Matthew’s level, “What?”
Matthew (trying to whisper in her ear, but talking loudly) “Daddy and me got Mommy a gagement ring.”
Bo: “Matthew!!!”
Nora: “A what?”
Matthew: “Oh noooo, oh no,” Starts crying. “She heard me. Daddy I’m sorry. I’m sorry Daddy!”

Bo just looked at his son, “Matthew!”
Matt: “I’m sorry Daddy! I didn’t mean it I promise!”
Nora: “Bo, what is going on here? What is Matthew talking about…gagement ring? Gagement ring? Oh OH! Is it an engagement ring?”
Bo just put his head down, and sighed. Then he had an idea. He grabbed Nora’s hand and pulled her to where everyone else was.
Bo: “May I have everyone’s attention please?” He smiled “I Know that this isn’t my party, but I’d like to thank my little brother, and his wife, for inviting me here. I’m sure everyone can agree.” A brief applause. “Now I’d like the opportunity to thank someone else tonight. Ya see many years ago, I was searching for something in my life, and I was looking in the wrong places for the one thing I wanted, make that needed. Then one day I found it. Thanks to my best bud and his daughter, who brought her mom to Llanview. Then my life was complete, and I then I turned out to be the stupidest person on earth, because I let her go.” He turned to look at Nora, “Now I have her back in my life, and we have the best kid in the whole world, and I couldn’t be happier. However, there is one thing missing.” He then pulled the ring out of his pocket, and got on one knee, and took her hand. “ Nora Buchanan, will you do me the honor of making me the happiest man in the world, and be my wife?” putting the ring on her finger.
Nora was crying. She hated to cry but she couldn’t help it. What he said was so beautiful.
Nora: “Yes Bo. I’ll marry you!”
Rachel was the first to congratulate the couple.
Asa: “I knew that you and Nora were meant for each other. I just knew it was a matter of time before you two got hitched.
Renee: “Asa darling, Bo knows how you feel, you’ve never let him forget, from the moment we found out that Matthew was his son.”
Asa: “I know, well I just want you two to know that I’m happy for you. I really am, and I’m glad that you are back in my family Nora.”
Nora gave Asa a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you Asa, I’m glad I’ll be back in your family again.”
Matthew goes up to Todd and Blair: “Did you hear? We’re getting married?”
Todd: “Ok whatever kid.”
Blair: “Todd…That’s good Matthew, I’m happy for you.”
Matthew: “Todd, why are you being mean? Don’t you know that Santa isn’t going to come visit you if you’re bad?”
Todd: “Why don’t you scram kid, don’t you have stockings to hang or supposed to be dreaming of candy?”
Matthew: “Ok, Mr. Grinch.”
Rachel: “Matthew! Watch your mouth!”
Matthew continues telling people that “they” are engaged, and how he and Daddy got his Mommy a gagement ring.”

In the car on the way home…

Matthew: “I can’t wait for our wedding! I want there to be ponies and lots of music, and can we have Barney there?”
Nora: “Wait a minute there Matthew. A wedding isn’t about that. And Barney doesn’t do weddings.”
Matthew: “But Daddy told me that a wedding is a big party where all the people they love will celebrate how happy they are and all the things that make them happy will be right there at the wedding. And Barney makes me happy.”
Bo: “Yeah but buddy the wedding is for Mommy and Daddy and the things that make us happy are you and Rachel, and each other.” He said as he smiled at Nora.
Matthew: “So Barney can’t be at the wedding?”
Bo: “No Barney can’t be at the wedding.”
Matthew: “Aw dad! Can we have food there?”
Bo: “Son there will be plenty of food there.”
Matthew: “YAY!”
Nora just loved to watch them together, and Bo grabbed her hand, and kissed it as he drove home. It was quite, so Nora turned around to see Matthew fast asleep.

Nora: “Looks like someone had a busy day.”
Bo: “And I can just bet that he’ll be up early tomorrow.”
Nora: “Thank you.”
Bo: “For what?”
Nora: “For this wonderful child, and for the chance to be you wife again.”
Bo: “It’s my pleasure, and I’m sorry that you have to be ‘my wife again’ it shouldn’t have been like this.”
Nora touched the side of his face, “What’s done is done Bo, and we can’t dwell on the past, we have a wonderful future to look forward to.”
Bo: “I know. Well, lets get this sleepy one to bed.”

Rachel who had gone home earlier met them at the door, and took Matthew from Bo.
Rachel: “I’ll take care of my little brother tonight.”
Bo kissed his son, “Sleep tight Matt.”
Matthew kind of woke up, and looked at Rachel. “Is it Christmas? Did Santa bring my bike?”
Rachel: “No, it’s not Christmas yet, but when you wake up tomorrow morning. I’m sure you bike will be here.”

Nora: “Shoot! Man, Oh no!”
Bo: “What is it Red?”
Nora: “I’m such a bad mother.”
Bo: “No you’re not, but tell me what’s going on, and I can help.”
Nora: “Well I got him that bike, but it’s in a million pieces, and it’s in the garage, and I forgot all about it. What if he wouldn’t have said anything? Then Santa would have forgotten his bike, and he would have been so upset.”
Bo: “Calm down, and listen to me.” Nora takes a couple of deep breathes. “Ok, now just tell me where the bike, is, and I’ll get the box, and we’ll go back to the garret and I’ll put it together. And bring it back before he wakes up in the morning.”
Nora: “That sounds like a good idea, thanks Bo.”
Bo: “So, where is the bike?”
Nora: “Oh it’s in the garage, leaning against the wall, behind the garbage cans.”
Bo: “Ok,” A few minutes later, he comes back with the box, and they grab their coats, and they go to the garret.

Garret:

After Bo makes a fire, he pushes the coffee table over to the side, and puts the box on the floor. He takes out the directions, and then makes sure all of his pieces are there. Once that is done, he gets started on putting his son’s first bike together. He was happy to do this, and he never imagined that he’d be able to do this.

Meanwhile, Nora is sitting on their couch, and is admiring her ring. It’s the first time she actually got to look at it. She looked at the finely cut stone, and was looking at how the flames were reflecting on it.
Bo glances over to here, and sees her looking at her hand.
Bo: “Whacha doing Red?”
Nora: “Oh, I’m just thinking about how much I love you.”
Bo crawls over to the couch: “So it’s true, that diamonds are a woman’s best friend?”
Nora smiles and leans down, putting her arms around his neck.
Nora: “Nope, you are a woman’s best friend.” Then she kisses him.
Bo pulls her off the couch and she grabs the throw off of the couch. They are kissing passionately on the floor.
Nora (between kisses) “Do…you…have…any…idea…how…much I…love…you?”
Bo: “I think I have a idea.”
Bo rolls her over, and is on top of her. Nora pushes him off.
Bo: “I thought you wanted this, just as much as I do.”
Nora: “Oh I do, but not with this handle bar in my back.”
Bo: “Oh yeah, that would be a problem.” So he picked her up, and laid her down on he couch. “How’s this?”
Nora: “Perfect.”
As they lay on the couch, after the fire started to die down, Bo’s alarm on his watch went off, it was 3:00 am.
Bo: “Oh no!”
Nora: “What is it?”
Bo: “The bike.”
Nora: “What time is it?”
Bo: “It’s 3.”
Nora: “Can you do it?”
Bo: “Yeah, I think so, at least I hope I can.

A couple hours later, after hard work the little red bike was complete.
Bo (sighed): “Look honey, it’s done.” He looked up to see Nora fast asleep on the couch. He took advantage of this opportunity to grab the rest of her presents and bring them to the truck before she woke up. He had them all piled in the back part of the SUV and looked at the time, 5:30am.
Bo walked over to the couch: “Hey sleepy head. Time to wake up.”
Nora: “I don’t want to…”
Bo: “Red, it’s Christmas morning, and our son will be up soon, and his presents are here.”
Nora jumped up. “Bo! Why did you let me sleep? The bike, where’s the bike?”
Bo “Calm down Red, everything is in the truck. Now we have to go there, and put it under the tree.”
Nora: “Oh ok.”

They get to back to Nora’s and get all the presents under the tree, and get upstairs and in the bed. As soon as both of the falls asleep. Matthew comes running in their room. “Mommy! Daddy! It’s Christmas! Lets go see if Santa came!”
Bo: “Ok ok, lets go. Did you go wake your sister up?”
Matthew: “No, I’ll go get her up, and you wake up Mommy.”
Bo: “Did you hear that Mommy?” he kisses her.
Nora: “I heard him. Let’s go celebrate you and your son’s first Christmas together.”

Matthew loved his bike, and his train set, and his new Harry Potter action figures. Nora gave Bo his pocket watch, and he just loved it, the inscription said, “Yours forever Love Matt and Red”

The diamond earrings he bought with the ring were for Rachel.

Bo handed Nora her present. In a tiny box.

Nora: “Bo, you shouldn’t have done this. This was way more than enough.”
Bo: “Well, I know and it was supposed to be surprise, see I had this for you too.” He handed her a little card that said, ‘Diamonds are forever and we are too, Red will you be my wife.’ She opened it and saw two keys in it.
Nora: “Keys? Did you get me a new car?”
Bo: “No, get dressed, we are going somewhere, all of us are.” Bo smiled, “As soon as I check on that bird in the oven.”
Nora: “You’re cooking?”
Bo: “Well, it’s a combination of Kerri, Rachel, me and desert is from Carlotta.

Nora, Bo, Matt, and Rachel were in the Xterra, and they were going for a ride. Rachel and Nora recognized the Neighborhood almost immediately.
Nora: “Bo, why are we here?”
Rachel: “Yeah, Bo. What’s going on.”
Matthew: “Wow! Why are we here Daddy?”
Bo: “Everyone please, it’s a surprise, just wait to be surprised.”

Bo pulled into the driveway of that old converted barn.
Nora: “Bo…”
Bo got Matthew out of the car, and was carrying him, Rachel was walking on the other side of Nora.
Bo: “Ok Red, try out your keys.”
Nora: “Stood there crying, What…When…How…”
Bo: “Just open the door.”
She did, and they walked inside. Waiting here was a bottle of champagne, and it was just like it was when he first brought her there.
Nora; “It’s our dream house.”
Bo: “Yeah, I was driving by the other day, and saw that it was up for sale again, and I couldn’t pass it up, just like I couldn’t pass us up again. So it’s ours.”
Nora: "I love you Bo."
Bo: "I love you too Red."
