Alone, Part 2

Last time:

Nora, bolted straight in her bed, still screaming for Bo. It was then that she realized it was raining. She could hear the rain beating against the window above her bed. Bo was not here. This wasn't their house. Bo was a lifetime away.

As Nora lay back down, her heart beginning to slow the pace, she rolled over. As the lone tear slowly rolled down her face, Nora tried desperately to get back to sleep. Back to her dreams of Bo and the life they once shared. Never in her life had Nora felt so terribly alone.
-------------

Bo could not sleep. Melanie had an emergency nose job at the hospital. He was alone, and feeling it. The rain was beating on the roof of the garrett. He could hear the pelting, and he could feel the pelting on his heart too. Bo could not get Nora out of his mind. Today in the courtroom, he wanted to go to her. He wanted to take Nora in his arms and tell her everything was going to be ok, that everything was ok. But he couldn't. He couldn't because it wasn't true. Nora looked so sad, so adrift from everyone, even from Sam.
She needed a friend to comfort her, and no one did.

This had been eating at him all evening. He could not get Nora out of his head, or out of his heart for that matter. He loved Melanie, he really did. He kept repeating that in his mind, over and over and over. But he knew deep down that it was a lie. Nora owned his heart, and always would.

His life with Nora was about music and dancing, and he missed it. And it was about love. Deep, true, pure, once in a lifetime love. He longed for that connection with someone again. That someone was not Melanie. Heck, she can't even dance, Bo thought to himself. A song was playing in his mind that reminded him of his demise with Nora. Over and over it played with the beat of the storm outside:

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain,
Telling me just what a fool I've been.
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain,
And let me be alone again.
Now the only girl I've ever loved has gone away.
Looking for a brand new start!
But little does she know that when she left that day.
Along with her she took my heart.
Rain, please tell me, now does that seem fair
For her to steal my heart away when she don't care
I can't love another, when my heart's somewhere far away.
Rain, won't you tell her that I love her so
Please ask the sun to set her heart aglow
Rain in her heart and let the love we know start to grow.

That's when it hit Bo. He threw on some levi's, an old t-shirt and grabbed his keys. Bo went out into the storm. He had to see her.
