Meet Me At The Park

Nora finds herself sitting all alone at her favorite park bench. The one she and Bo always shared. Her mind was racing like a herd of wild horses. She shook her head in utter disbelief at what had happened that night

It was the perfect setting, or so one thought. Candlelight dinner, soft music and sushi..The entire table of events was forever branded into her mind and soul.

Really Nora, SUSHI! What where you thinking? How could I have been so stupid? I had so many reservations and heard so many voices but chose to ignore them all. Why didn't I listen? What is going on with you, she asked herself. This man looks identically like the man that taunted and terrorized you for months, kept you hidden away from your family and friends..... All those months without Matthew. It was a horrible, horrible nightmare!

It was a beautiful night and she stared into the endless night of stars, as if the entire galaxy could answer the million questions that were running through her mind. If it were only that simple. She wasn't the same anymore, nothing was the same and she was very confused by it all. One thing she knew for certain was that she didn't like the person she had become. Never in a million years would she jump from one relationship to another, believe that she could love both these men and worse of all allow herself to lose Bo.

She was crying uncontrollably at this point, unable to stop herself but she didn't care. All the years of the pain and misery of living without Bo had taken it's toll. There would never be anyone to replace Bo and she finally realized that was exactly what she had been doing. She was trying to replace Bo with men that couldn't even come close. She was flooded with memories of her life with Bo. The calls she would receive in the middle of the afternoon from Bo asking her to meet him at the park. He was always so sweet to bring her a cheeseburger and chili fries. She sat back on the park bench only to recollect the first time she met Bo....the first chili dog.....the first date......the first dance.....the first kiss....the first pizza.....the first doughnut.....and the first time they made love. She couldn't help but let the smile take over the tears that had been streaming down her face for hours. Oh Bo, she said out loud. What have I done? I miss you. I need you. I want you. I love you!

Same goes for me, Red! Nora looked up without any hesitation to see Bo standing there. Bo! Nora was quick to realize that wiping away the tears was a lost cause. She was instantly on her feet, straightening her clothes and hair. Red, are you ok? You don't look too good. And what are you doing here alone at this hour? Well, I could ask you the same question Buchanan. Bo politely responded that he needed to clear his head and get some fresh air. Bo was lost in his own thoughts as well, not realizing he was kicking at the dirt. So, tell me Nora.....what are you doing here? Bo gently touched Nora's chin, forcing her to make eye contact with him.

Bo and Nora both sat down on there favorite bench. Both of them dealing with the realization of the mess both of there lives had become. Bo dealing with all the lies and deceit he continued to encounter, trying to understand why he repeatedly exposed himself to it all. Before they even knew, the horrible night Nora was so desperately trying to put behind her had come to an end as they fell asleep on the bench.

Bo slowly began to wake, he noticed the sun was coming up and it was beautiful. It took him a few minutes to remember where he was and why he was there and not too mention the fact that Nora was leaning on him sound asleep. He smiled at the sight. Nora was completely unaware that it was daylight. They both had sat there completely unaware of the comfort they had provided each other. Nora didn't even realize she had spent the past few hours resting her head on Bo's shoulder, nor the fact that he had put his arm around her. As Nora came too, she couldn't help but put her hand on Bo's cheek. She always loved his morning whiskers and even more loved waking up beside him.

Nora was dying to tell Bo .....that she loved him, and never stopped. Although she was enjoying the silence, the both of them savoring the moment she was more than ready to let him know how she felt. As they both continued to sit there, without any words being spoken, Nora turned and looked at Bo. Bo says, “I LOVE YOU TOO”, Nora sat up straight and turned around as fast as she could to look at Bo. What did you say? I LOVE YOU TOO!!!!! It was so nice to finally hear the words she had longed to hear for so long. She jumped up wrapping Bo in her arms and said “ I LOVE YOU TOO BO BUCHANAN”!!!!
