"Matthew wanted to know if Uncle Bo had come here for
a sleep over"
"I knew I liked that child. So what did his mommy say to
that?"
"I told him that if Uncle Bo was good, he could stay!"
"But what if Uncle Bo was going to be bad?"
"Well then, Uncle Bo can definitely stay!"

The next morning
Nora rolled over in bed and stared at Bo who was staring back at her. They both smiled and Nora moved closer until they were totally entwined.
"Happy Red?"
"Very happy...and very much in love"
"Oh yea, with who?"
"Some guy I met years ago. He's very cute with eyes that
sparkle like the stars in the midnight sky. Some guy that makes
all my troubles just vanish with just a hint of a smile, a light
touch of my skin, a faint brush of his lips on mine"
"That's some guy! He sounds very special"
"He is...very special" Bo slowly turns Nora back on
her back and rolls on top of her, kissing her gently, exploring
ever inch of her body, eventually making mad passionate love to
her
"So...Am I this guy you are so in love with?"
"Hmm, I'm not sure. You're gonna have to try that one more
time or two or three"
"Hey, I'm not as young as I used to be you know"
"Really commish, I hadn't noticed"
"You never could get enough of me, now that I think of it"
"Me, enough of you? Bo, I never had a moments peace with
you around".
"Yea, like you were always complaining"
"I was being polite. Didn't want to hurt your feelings or
anything"
"Oh yea? Well, what about all those times you jumped me,
huh?"
" I must have felt sorry for you. Yea that's right, I felt
sorry for you"
"I'm wounded. Here I thought all along that you really wanted
me"
"Well, maybe a little, I suppose" Nora rolls on top
of Bo and starts nibbling at his neck "Maybe a little more
than a little...maybe a lot more than a little"
"Ah ha, I knew it, you can't keep your hands off of me"
"Are you complaining?"
"Yes I am, I... Nora moves her hands down Bo's chest "
As I was saying....ooooooh Red....as I was..... oh damn, forget
what I was saying"
An hour later Nora got out of the shower and watched as
Bo rolled over in bed. A broad grin lit up his face as he watched
her dress
"God, I love you Red"
"I know. I'm the best thing that ever happened to you"
Bo laughed "You can say that again"
"I'm the best thing that ever happened to you commish, and
don't you ever forget that again"
"I won't. I won't. Isn't this when you are supposed to say
that you love me too"
"I love you too"
"Oh sure, now you say it after I have to pull it out of you"
"Listen here mister, I never ever stopped loving you, not
for a second"
"But you came to my office and told me you weren't in love
with me anymore, remember?"
"Oh that. Is DID contagious? It must have been an alter.
Or maybe a lapse in judgement. Or maybe both - can alters have
a lapse in judgement?"
"Nora?"
"Yes my love"
"Shut up and give me a kiss"
"No can do commish. People to see, places to go. Sorry"
"You're sorry??"
Nora finished dressing and ran downstairs. Since Matthew
had already been taken to pre school, she skipped breakfast and
started loading up her briefcase. She ran out to her car and started
her rounds, first the courthouse, then a visit to a client, picked
up some dry cleaning, got a few groceries, a hair cut, a new dress
for the family party, and finally arrived at Viki's
"Nora, relax dear, I think I'll make your coffee decaf"
"Viki, I'm sorry, I just can't sit still. I've never been
so happy in my life"
"I can see that. Do I get to hear why?"
"I'm in love again...still, Oh Viki, Bo and I are back together.
Can you believe it cuz I'm having a hard time believing it myself.
But it so right, so perfect."
"I'll say it's perfect. It's wonderful. I'm so happy for
you. You bring out the best in each other. You two are meant for
each other like no other couple I know"
"But we don't have the best track record. What happens if..."
"Nora, stop this. You two have had a bumpy ride, yes, but
that doesn't mean it has to continue. You two belong to each other,
and you know it"
"I sure want to believe that, but mistakes happen. Will we
be able to deal with them together?"
"You need to talk that out with Bo and soon. There's no reason
why you can't have a long and happy life together, but you have
to agree to keep the lines of communication open at all times.
No more secrets - and that means for both of you"
"You're right. Of course you're right, but can we do that?"
"Nora!"
"I know I know. We can do it. We have to do it. I can't live
my life without him now"
"I'm just so happy for you dear"
Nora's cell phone rang and with polite excuses she left for the
hospital.
Bo made his way to his office. He plunked himself down on
his desk chair and opened the bottom drawer. He pulled out the
picture of Nora he had kept all these years and held it out in
front of himself. "Oh Red, I do love you" He got up
and started pacing around the room, looking at the picture and
smiling. Bo was just about to kiss the picture but jumped back
and placed the picture face down on the desk when he noticed Hank
standing at the door.
"Whoa Bo, relax, I think I'll make your coffee decaf"
"Hey buddy, I'm sorry, I just can't sit still. I've never
been so happy in my life"
"I can see that. Do I get to hear why?"
"I'm in love again...still... Nora and I are back together.

Bo's cell phone rang and with polite excuses he left for the hospital.
Bo met up with Nora in the hospital lobby and asked her
to have a coffee with him before they went upstairs.
"Bo, you didn't have to come. I just called you to tell you
David was being discharged"
"I know but I wanted to come. I wanted to be with you. And
besides I have something to talk to you about"
"And that would be?" Bo sat Nora down and held her hands
gently in his.
"Well...us. I'm really worried about us and about losing
us, losing what we have now. A wise friend just reminded me that
we have to talk about keeping our lines of communication open"
"Yea, like no more secrets"
"Well yes...who did you talk to?
"Viki. And you?"
"Hank!" The cafeteria noise stopped as everyone turned
to look at this couple laughing uncontrollably
"We'll make it Red. I know we will cuz I love you, more than
I thought was possible."
"And I love you too Bo, very very much, but can I let you
in on a little secret"
"You better"
"You were incredible last night"
Bo puffed out his chest and grinned "I was, wasn't I"
They entered David's room and were stunned at the sight.
Len and Selma were sitting on his bed with him, laughing with
him, holding him. Tears in everyone's eyes.
Selma was the first to speak "we're not dreaming, right?
Our little baby boy is back with us?"
"Momma, baby boy? I think I'm way past being a baby boy"
"You are to me sweetheart" with that Selma ran her hand
through David's shiny auburn locks for the umpteenth time.
Len turned his head and noticed Nora and Bo at the door, hand
in hand "Well well well look who's joined us. David's other
half and Bo's better half. This is good. Gonna give your old man
a kiss?"
Nora took a deep breath, smiled and kissed her parents and then
her brother "You Ok?"
"Yes sis, better than ok. Thank you for being here. Bo I'm
glad you're here too."
Bo leaned over the bed and shook David's hand then gave his past
and future in laws a kiss. He then stepped back and put his arm
around Nora. "This is some reunion huh?"
Nora leaned closer to Bo and whispered "It sure is."
" Now if only Susannah and Rachel and..."
"Did someone mention our names?" and with that Susannah
entered the room with Rachel holding Matthew in tow.
The small hospital room was full of laughter and tears, everyone
talking at once.
"WHAT is going on in here?"
Nora looked at the newcomer and then at David and smiled "Nurse
Annie, how nice to see you. I thought David said this was your
day off"
"Well yes, umm, yes, but they were short staffed today so
I volunteered to come in"
"Short staffed eh?" Everyone noticed the look David
and Annie were giving each other.
Selma hating to be left out of any story " David, introduce
us"
David laughed, feeling 16 again "Momma, daddy, Susannah and
you know the rest, this is Annie, my nurse and very good friend."
"Nice to meet you all, now, if you'll all step outside I'll
get David ready to go home"
"I'll help you son" Len was more than happy to be involved
"Daddy, it's ok, really...really"
"Come on Len, we can all wait outside" Even Selma could
size up the situation here.
The party was held that night in the Palace ballroom. The
Buchanans, the Hanens, the Gannons and all their friends. Those
who weren't aware yet, were delighted to see Bo and Nora together,
very together and all were gracious and welcoming to David and
his date....Annie. After dinner, the band struck up mostly with
requests from the host, Bo. Bo held Nora in his arms and they
floated through one dance after another. David and Annie got in
a few slow ones too - dances that is! Then something weird happened
towards the end of the evening. The band started playing a song
and everyone stopped dancing and started singing along
"All you need is love...da da da da da All you need is love...da
da da da da....All you need is love, yea, love is all you need."
