A CHANGE IN SEASONS (part 2)

It is now December.

Bo and Nora have decided to get remarried on New Year's Eve.

The ceremony will be at Asa and Renee's. It will be small with only family and close friends.

Clint comes back from London and Rachel comes in from Chicago to spend the holidays with everyone.

Bo is at the station. He is staring at a picture of Matthew.

There is a knock on his door.

B: Come on in.
Clint: Hey little brother - How ya' doin'?
B: Clint! It's great to see you. (They hug) Thanks for coming home. We've missed you.
C: Well, I wouldn't miss this. I'm so sorry about all that's happened. Looks like Lindsay got both of us huh? But I'm so glad you and Nora worked everything out. You two belong together.
B: I know. I'm happier than ever. It's even better the second time around.
Clint do you have some free time now? I've got to starting Christmas shopping.
C: Sure, let's go.

Bo and Clint head to the toy store at the mall.

B: Jeez, where do I start?
C: Well you got me. It's been a long time since I've been shopping for toys.
B: Well let's look around.

Bo picks out some toy trucks and cars, a play fishing pole set, play golf set, and a play motorcycle. All toys that Matthew is a little too young for. He knows it, but he figures he'll be old enough soon enough.

B: Nora's gonna kill me, but I couldn't resist.

They head home.

Bo puts all the packages in the garage.

N: Bo, what's all the racket? (She heads out to the garage)
B: (Trying to hide all the stuff) Ah, nothing. Just straightening out the garage.
N: Now? That's a weekend job. What are all those boxes behind you (She walks over).
N: Oh my god. What is all this? - fishing pole, golf, trucks, motorcycle?!?
B: They are Matt's Christmas gifts. Aren't they cute? I couldn't help myself.
N: Wow! I'll say. They are very cute. It's going to be a wonderful Christmas, Hannukah, and New Year's.
B: Yes it is. (Bo grabs her and they kiss) Let's go inside, it's getting cold in here.

The house is beautifully decorated for the holidays.

Bo and Nora order Chinese food and sit by the fire to eat.

N: So are you getting nervous?
B: About what? Christmas?
N: No silly, the wedding.
B: No way! In fact, I can't wait. I wish it was tomorrow. It's nothing like the first time honey. After being without you for so long, I can't wait to be with you forever now.
N: I know. I feel the same way. This time will be extra, extra special. Especially because of our son. Gosh, it feels wonderful to say that - our son.
B: I know what you mean. I have to pinch myself sometimes to make sure I'm not dreaming.

The phone rings.

N: I'll get it. Hello.
Rachel: Hi mom. How are you? Can we do some shopping tomorrow?
N: Sure honey. I'll pick you up. We'll spend the day together. Ok- see you tomorrow. Goodnight sweetie.
N: Well Rachel and I are going shopping tomorrow.
B: That's good. That should be fun for you guys. I better hide the credit cards.
N: Oh yeah - look who's talking. I've got to get you a gift too you know.
B: What are you getting me?
N: It's a secret. You'll have to wait till Christmas!
B: Well, I've got the best presents ever - Matthew and you.
N: That's true. We are truly lucky and blessed.

Next day

Nora picks up Rachel around 10:00 and they are off.

N: So where should we start?
R: Well, I've got you, dad, Matthew, Bo, and RJ to shop for, plus many others.
N: Do you have any ideas in mind? What's mine?
R: Now mom, you know I'm not going to tell you. I guess I'll save you for last.
N: Oh darn! Let's start with Bo and Matthew then - ok?
R: That's a good idea.
N: Let's go to the lingerie department.
R: What? Is there something you're not telling me about Bo?
N: (laughing) No! I want to pick up something special for Christmas.
R: Oh! Whew! Thank goodness.

Nora tries on a few nightgowns and decides on a silk red one with soft velvet straps and soft red lace with a matching robe and fancy slippers.

R: Wow! You look beautiful mom. Bo's going to love it. That's a great gift.
N: Thanks Rachel. I do look good don't I? I feel so much better about myself these days. I had gotten so down for a while there. After everything blew up, I had to face so many things and I got very depressed. Thankfully with Bo back in my life and some counseling, I'm back to the old me.
R: I'm so glad Mom. You are better than ever. Now let's shop for my baby brother!

In the meantime, Bo is at the Llanview Jewelry Store.

Clerk: Can I help you sir?
B: Yes - I need a wedding ring.
C: What are you looking for?
B: Well, a band with diamonds perhaps. Oh, it also has to be big enough for an inscription.
C: OK - here are some of our selections.

Bo decides on a lovely gold band with five diamonds.

C: OK - what's the inscription to be?
B: Bo, Nora, Matthew - 12/31/99 to forever.
C: That's very nice. That should be ready in about a week.
B: Great. Call me at this number when it's ready.

Bo's cell phones rings.

B: Buchanan.
N: Hi Buchanan. Would you like to join me, Rachel, and Matthew at Rodi's for dinner?
B: Hey Red - of course. Sounds great. I'm on my way.

Nora, Bo, Rachel, and Matthew enjoy a good dinner together as a family.

One week later.

Bo is at the station.

The phone rings.

B: Commissioner Buchanan.

Jewelry store: Hello Mr. Buchanan, this is Scott from Llanview Jewelry Store. Your ring is ready.

B: Oh great! I'll be right over.

Bo goes to the store.

Clerk: Hello Mr. Buchanan. Here's your gift.
B: Wow! It turned out beautiful. Thank you. You know I'm also interested in getting a necklace, earrings, or something.
C: OK. Well we have a beautiful selection of things.
B: Yes I see. Oh - I know. Do you have those mother & child necklaces? I think that would be nice.

Bo chooses a gold necklace with the figure of a mother and child, with the child's portion having a blue sapphire representing a boy.

B: This is great. She'll love it.

A few days later - Llanview Jewelry Store - Nora walks in.

Clerk: Can I help you?
N: Yes, I'm looking for a men's wedding ring. Something simple, but big enough for an inscription.

Nora chooses a simple gold band.

C: What's the inscription?
N: Nora, Bo, Matthew - 12/31/99 to forever.

The clerk laughs.

N: What's so funny?
C: Nothing. Should be ready in about a week.
N: Great - thank you. Call me at this number when it's ready.
