- Bo's "Big
Crush"
-
- Nora and Sam have lunch at
the diner. Sam talks about the good, ole times and
the trip to Tahiti when Bo and Hank arrive at the diner.
NORA: Hey, the guys are here. This is Llanview Central.
BO: Hi, honey.
HANK: Hey!
NORA: This is...
HANK: Whoa, Sam Rappaport! Hey, man. I havent seen you
in a lot of years.
SAM: Actually, you have...the other day in the steam bath at
Serenity Springs. I thought it was you.
HANK: Yes, thats right. You looked a little familiar...just
out of context.
SAM: You too. You still throwing that football around?
HANK: Sure, whenever I can.
NORA: Sam, this is my husband Bo.
SAM: Hi.
BO: Good to meet you, Sam.
SAM: Nice to meet you too.
HANK: So Sam, what brings you to Llanview?
SAM: Well, actually, a divorce case. I think though its
going to last a little longer than Id intended. Nora will
not budge.
NORA: Im representing Teá Delgardo in her divorce
case against Todd.
BO: Youre what?
-
- NORA: Well, his will be the
head that I butt the most.
BO: I think this is terrific, honey.
NORA: You do?
BO: Yes, of course. Teá Delgardo...the worst mistake she
ever made in her whole life is marrying Todd Manning...the jerk.
No offense!
SAM: None taken.
Youre not upset?
BO: No, he hates our guts anyway. I mean, what difference is
this gonna make?
HANK: We dont care too much for Todd Manning.
SAM: Yeah, I got that feeling. Look, I really better get going
actually.
Sam puts the Tahiti tickets into his pocket.
BO: What? Youre heading out of town?
SAM: It was a little trip I didnt take. It didnt
work out. Anyway, Ill be seeing you around here. Maybe
we can reach some kind of compromise.
NORA: Dont count on it!
SAM: Ok, I wont. Well, should I...
NORA: No, my treat.
SAM: Oh, thank you very much. Ok, it was a pleasure seeing you
again. Nice to meet you. Wouldnt it be something if this
turns into another six-month case?
NORA: Goodbye, Sam.
SAM: Bye.
HANK: So Nora, didnt you go out with that guy two or three
times?
NORA: Thank you, Hank.
HANK: What are friends for.
NORA: Its a long story.
BO: I got the time.
NORA: Well, I dont. I have to go to Club Indigo and mend
some fences for the party tonight. Youre gonna go?
BO: Yes, I gonna go. Actually, Im looking forward to it.
NORA: Oh, youre such a sport. (kiss) Bye. (to Hank) You!
(to Bo) I love it that youre jealous.
BO: Jealous? What?
HANK: You were jealous.
BO: Im not jealous.
HANK: You were jealous, buddy.

- Bo storms into Noras
office while shes on the phone.
NORA: I have to get back to you. I think I have an emergency.
She looks at an impatient Bo.
NORA: I have an emergency. Thanks.
She hangs up the phone.
NORA: Whats wrong?
BO: Everything is just fine. I just need you to come with me.
NORA: What happened?
BO: I just need you to come with me...right now. Thats
all.
NORA: What do you mean thats all? Is Rachel
ok?
BO: Rachel is fine.
NORA: Well, then whats wrong?
BO: Its just something. I cant get into it now. But
you gotta deal with it.
He takes her by the hand and leads her out of her office. Noras
confused.
NORA: The house blew up?
BO: No!
NORA: Oh, Georgie! I have to go. You have to take messages.
GEORGIE: I got it covered.
NORA: Ok.
Bo throws a rose to Georgie. Nora comes back.
NORA: Are you sure Rachel is fine?
BO: Rachel is fine. Lets go!
-
- Nora is still wondering what
happened.
BO: Honey, close your eyes!
NORA: What?
BO: Just cover your eyes!
He covers her eyes with his hand and leads her into the house.
NORA: Bo, this is stupid.
BO: Stupid? Well, I guess thats one way you could put it.
He takes his hand away from her eyes and she sees the house decorated
with lots of flowers.
NORA: This isnt an emergency.
She hits him on the shoulder.
NORA: You scared the hell out of me.
BO: I told you nothing was wrong.
NORA: What is all this for?
BO: Well, its your birthday.
NORA: No, its Rachels birthday.
BO: Yeah. But who gave birth on this day?
She realizes what hes getting at.
NORA: Its my birth day!
She smiles.
NORA: But why did you say it was an emergency?
BO: I dont know. It is. Because I havent seen my
wife. Have you seen my wife? Shes about this tall, real
good-looking, red hair, great legs, you know. I think I used
to spend a lot of time with her. But its been so long,
Im not sure.
NORA: But wasnt there an easier way to get me here?
BO: I dont know. My way worked pretty good, didnt
it?
NORA: Yeah, Im here...or Im dreaming.
BO: Honey, listen. Theres something really important that
I gotta tell you.
NORA: Oh, my god. Youre scaring me again, Bo.
BO: No, no, no. Theres no bad news behind any door here,
behind anything. As a matter of fact, I think that maybe you
should have something to eat right now to keep your blood sugar
up.
NORA: Sweetheart, I love the presentation, but I cant possibly
eat.
BO: No, people gotta eat. Here, you gotta be hungry.
NORA: Im always hungry.
BO: Then chow down!
Nora looks under the burger and finds a little jewelry box.
BO: Dont eat that though. Thats real bad for digestion.
She opens the box and finds a beautiful heart necklace.
NORA: Oh, Bo. Its beautiful.
BO: I thought youd like it.
NORA: I just....its just beautiful. Im gonna wear
it everyday and everywhere.
BO: Thatll be perfect.
She hands him the necklace.
NORA: Here! Would you...
BO: Sure. Okay.
NORA: My word. Its perfect. Its a perfect fit...your
heart over mine.
BO: So you really like it?
NORA: I love it. I love all of it. I love the surprise and the
flowers and the heart.
She caresses his face with her hand and gives him a short kiss.
NORA: But...
BO: No, please. No buts.
NORA: No.
BO: No buts in here now.
NORA: Why did you do all of this, hmm? Whats really wrong?
-
- BO: Honey, Im telling
you there is absolutely nothing wrong...except...
NORA: Except? Except what? What?
BO: Its just the way that you looked at that guy Sam Rappaport
today at lunch, you know.
Bo looks into Noras smiling face.
BO: No. No, Im not jealous. I dont know. Maybe Im
a little jealous, but its in a good way.
NORA: I think you need to explain that really well.
BO: All right, I can do that. You see, its not the kind
of jealous like when you see your wife having lunch with some
guy.
NORA: Why not? Well, Im kidding...sort of. Well, Im
half-kidding...the same way youre half-jealous. Go on.
He sits down next to her.
BO: You see, when Im with you Im quiet. And even
though when I yell sometimes, but inside of me theres still
a part thats quiet. Its calm and its still.
Its just like when Im alone.
Nora looks at him confused and worried.
BO: No, dont give me the worried look. Because its
really a good thing. It means that Im just as comfortable
with you as I am with myself.
NORA: Or a couch or an ??? or an old sweat shirt...
BO: No, no, no. But the way you looked at that guy Rappaport...I
mean, you were like electric, you know. You were alert, you were
curious, a little bit guarded. What we have is unguarded, you
know. We have a totally unguarded comfort. And its not
that I dont love it. I actually...I love it to death. But
I also love when your mind is like really going...full tilt...you
know, just boogying. I can hear all the wheels and the carts
turning in there. And what I love about that is that I dont
know what youre gonna say or what youre gonna do.
NORA: So, Ive become worn-out and predictable?
BO: No, no. See, its not about you. This is about our lives.
Every night we come in right through this door over here and
were already totally fried. Were already talked out.
So, yeah. I called you over here for an emergency. And it is
an emergency, because I wanted to see you right now...right now...unplanned...right
in the afternoon. And then I thought maybe...who knows...maybe
youd give me the kind of look that you gave that Rappaport.
NORA: Youre on the right track.
BO: I just wanted to rev you up, thats all.
NORA: Oh, youre good at that.
BO: I used to be.
NORA: You still are.
Nora stand up and walks over to him to reassure him.
NORA: Oh, sweetheart. Weve been...we maybe have had some
rough times here, but it doesnt change the fact that youre
the biggest thrill in my life.
BO: Oh, god. Im so glad to hear that. Because...
NORA: Because what? Hmm?
Bo cant find the words at first.
B. Its a little harder than I thought.
NORA: Oh, Bo. Youre scaring me again, Bo.
BO: Ok, here it is. Ive gotta this crush...
NORA: What?
BO: Its just that really big crush on you. I do. I do.
And...
NORA: And what? And what?
BO: And its just the best, its the greatest feeling
in my whole life.
NORA: Mine too.
BO: Yeah?
She grabs his jacket.
NORA: Yeah, yeah. Cuz, no matter how alert or alive or curious
or excited or whatever I may have looked at lunch, it just doesnt
even begin to compare with how in love I am with my husband.
Bo wants to kiss her. She puts her finger on his lips and walks
away.
NORA: Theres one more thing.
Being this in love with you, you know, doesnt stop me from
falling in love with you all over every day.
BO: All righty. Then I gotta do this right now, right here. I
gotta...I gotta kiss you, honey.
He takes her in his arms and kisses her.
BO: Right here. (kiss)
He travels down her neck.
BO: Right here. (kiss)
He kisses her next to the necklace.
BO: Right here by the little heart. (kiss)
NORA: Oh, josh.
BO: Over here.
He pulls her to another corner of the room.
NORA: Oh, over here. (kiss)
They walk another ten feet.
BO: And over there. (kiss) And back here. (kiss) And here. (kiss)
The doorbell rings.
NORA: No, no, dont get that.
BO: I think I got to.
NORA: No, no, no. But I love him anyway. Go figure.
Its Nick.
NICK: Im sorry, boss. I know you took the afternoon of,
but...
Max comes in.
MAX: We need to speak.
