- "Soap's Greatest
Hall of Fame - 50 Top Stars of All Time."
Soap Opera Magazine (Spring 1997)
- "One Life to Live"
execs took a hint from the success of "Dallas" and
in 1979, they introduced their own brand of western oilmen--the
Buchanans. And Bo Buchanan was the playboy of the group.
-
- Robert S. Woods has had onscreen
success with countless female partners (many much younger than
he, as Bo has been known to rob the cradle). Bo has also had
several careers, including soap opera producer and currently,
police commissioner.
-
- In 1987, Bob left for "Days
of Our Lives," where he played Paul Stewart. He returned
the next year and played both Bo and his evil lookalike, Patrick,
known to most as Faux Bo.
-
- Bob struck leading-lady gold
when he was paired with Hillary B. Smith. Hillary began her daytime
career on "As the World Turns" as Margo Hughes. Her
unique sense of humor was evident on that show, but really moved
into the forefront when she created the role of defense attorney
Nora Gannon. Perhaps her most memorable moment was when Nora
realized the college boys she was defending really were guilty
of rape. She said as much to the jury, causing a mistrial.
-
- Both actors have been rewarded
for their superb work on OLTL. Bob won the Emmy for Best Actor
in 1983, and Hillary won the Best Actress Emmy in 1994.
