OLTL's Nora Learns The Truth And Lindsay's World Explodes
[The Cover Has Bo/Nora/Lindsay
On The Cover saying...."I DON'T!" NORA STOPS THE WEDDING]
It was really only a matter
of time on ONE LIFE TO LIVE: Linday's deceptions were going to
come out sooner or later. After all, how long can it remain a
secret that you altered the fertility test results of the man
you ultimately fell in love with(Bo), which caused his wife,
Nora, to sleep with and (possibly) become pregnant by another
man(Sam, Lindsay's ex) and the disintegration of Bo and Nora's
marriage? Apparently, the secret remained under wraps just long
enough to decimate Lindsay and Bo's wedding. Nora learned the
truth at the end of last week, and after that, it was all downhill
for Lindsay......
"The wedding blows up,"
says Robert S. Woods(Bo) succinctly. "There's no clue when
the dust settles. It's going to be radioactive for a long time,
though. A long time before anyone can go in again."
Comparing the detonation that
occurs when the unstoppable force of Nora meets the immovable
object of Lindsay to a nuclear blast may be only a slight exaggeration.
As the week begins, Nora is still reeling from the revelation
that nemesis Lindsay was the one who tampered with Bo's fertility
test results at the end of 1998 to make it appear that he was
sterile. "[Nora] knew Lindsay was up to something,"
says Hillary B. Smith(Nora). "But she didn't know just how
vindictive, vengeful, insecure and hateful Lindsay was up until
now. And now, it looks like Lindsay's about to get away with
murder."
Not if Nora has anything to
do with it. "She's really holding Bo's future in her hands,"
notes OLTL Head Writer Megan McTavish. "So she wants to
do this right."
Nora gets confirmation of
Lindsay's misdeeds from Dorian, who also reveals that Sam's been
in the know all along. When Nora questions her fiance, Sam 'fesses
up. "It's such a complete and utter breach of confidence,"
sighs Smith. "But that doesn't occur to her right away.
What she's thinking is: Bo has a right to know about this."
But is that the only reason
Nora's so hot to spill the truth? Ever since she nearly lost
Bo to an electric shock on New Year's Eve, Nora's been even more
concerned with his well-being than usual. "She hasn't confronted
her true motivations," says McTavish. " It really is
Nora's journey."
At this point, just about
everyone except Nora realizes that she may not be over Bo. As
Nora decides to let her ex know what Lindsay did, Sam stops her.
"What Nora doesn't realize is that she may be jeopardizing
her future with Sam to get the truth out there," says McTavish.
None of which occurs to Nora,
who races to the chapel at the end of the week. The ceremony
has already started, which doesn't stop her from interrupting,
but Bo isn't interested in hearing why Nora is so worked up.
"He never listens to Nora," grins Smith. "It's
his own damn fault."
"That ship has sailed,"
insists Woods. "He tells her to let it alone, they've talked
about this, and it's done. He's ready to go forward." And
with that, Bo walks away from Nora, ready to marry Lindsay.
Which leaves Nora with two
choices: Walk away, tail between her legs, or blurt it out. Explains
McTavish, "Nora tries to do it in a dignified way, but it
doesn't come off like that."
Nora makes her decision, and
after that, says McTavish, "All hell breaks loose. What
we're left with is a really nice emotional mess. But....this
is no means the end of it."
In the following days, Bo's
going to have to face some unsettling questions. Can he still
marry Lindsay after learning of her treachery? And there's yet
another question to be answered: Is Sam or Bo the father of baby
Matthew? This week unveils one major secret that's been brewing
in Llanview seemingly forever ---- and launches a thrilling ride
to pick up the pieces left in the wake of Nora and Lindsay's
mutually-assured destruction. |
